Where you’ll be

Ystad, Skåne län, Sweden

The house is located in a beautiful neighborhood that provides an opportunity for relaxation. The region is called "Skåne” and is Sweden's leading food landscape with a range of exciting Scandinavian raw materials and food crafts. The food can be enjoyed directly from the fish smokehouse in one of the small fishing villages nearby or one of the region's many good restaurants. Skåne is becoming the northernmost wine region in Europe and only 3 km from the house is a vineyard. Sea and wind provide sailing/sailing school and paragliding.Worthy of visiting is the historic city of Ystad with a well-preserved old town centre known for its cruciform houses. Scandinavia's largest and oldest university in Lund from the 13th century has helped to thrive cultural life in the region. Metropolitan life and shopping are close at hand, for example by train from Ystad to Malmö or via the Öresund Bridge over to Copenhagen. Malmö has a unique building ”Turning Torso” designed by the famous Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava.

Ystad is now also known as a film city, as mainly the Wallander films are recorded here, both the Swedish with Rolf Lassgård and Christer Henriksson in the lead role and the British with Kenneth Brannagh as Wallander. There are also a number of activities related to the theme, such as a hike in Wallander's footsteps, or solving murder mysteries in the city.
