The host was very pleasant and responsive.
However, we can't really recommend this listing, despite its very competitive price, because the flat was very smelly. It had been adequately cleaned, and we couldn't identify the source of the smell. But we found that there was an electric odour-neutraliser plugged in in the bathroom. One of us is asthmatic and allergic to the chemicals, so we unplugged it, and then found the smell intensified to the point where it wasn't tolerable.
Other problems were that the flat was very hot and stuffy (not the host's fault, of course), and with the rear windows opening onto a kind of well in the centre of the block, the noise from neighbours in the other flats during the night echoed round and was very intrusive.
So, although we'd booked in for a week, we decamped after one night and stayed in a hotel.
When we returned at the end of the week to return the keys, the toilet cistern broke, and the host admitted that she knew that the mechanism needed replacing.
We were rather surprised to be asked for a deposit of 100 euros "for the keys". It was returned to us at the end of the week as promised. But we've never had this before with Airbnb, and felt that it wasn't quite in the spirit of mutual trust which usually prevails.
Positives were that the wifi was very good, and the washing machine worked well. And Valencia is absolutely lovely!
