Bracken House is even more beautiful than the pictures reflect. We loved every minute of our stay here and were sad to have to leave it. Ideally located near vineyards and orchards, the home features beautiful gardens and unique artwork. It has been lovingly restored and offers all the amenities you could possibly need to create a wonderful home away from home. I would not hesitate to rebook a stay at Bracken House!

Jodie's place was exactly as advertised. It was very modern and well decorated. Our family stayed there for our wedding. We couldn't be happier with our choice. Very clean and quiet. I would recommend this place for all our friends visiting NOTL!

We stayed at Bracken house in early November with 6 family members. We were a little late in our arrival and Jodie greeted us on our schedule. Bracken house is beautiful, warm, clean and on an incredible property. This is a 5 star rating with a wonderful owner. We will stay there again.

Our experience was really nice. Jodie is very welcoming. The location for us would have been ideal in the town centre but the cottage property and privacy would be great in warmer summer weather for enjoying the outdoor amenities.

The home was lovely and very clean and in a beautiful and tranquil setting. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and loved that the house was conveniently close to everything but on a tranquil and quiet road.

Jodie User ProfileJodie is a superhost.

I am an artist who works sculpturally, lives creatively, teaches art at various elementary schools, and runs a successful B&B. Our family are all committed Christians, and we strive to live that out relationally and with integrity. And thankfulness.
I enjoy my book group, gardening, and our chickens. Our town is small and quaint; we have some good friendships here. Life expands even more as we have come to form friendships with some of the Jamaican seasonal workers who labour in the orchards and vineyards around us. Currently, I sit on the National Board of Young Life, and it is a privelege to work in this way with a wonderful organization. I count Young Life people among my most cherished life-long friendships. That responsibility heads me out to Western Canada a couple of times a year, where I can also take time to connect with family. My sister is a painter, and we love to get in the studio together (and watch a few movies in the evenings).
I do love film, and when I am feeling particularly in need of comfort I'll plug in a Jane Austen or Elizabeth Gaskell. Food is a good thing, and we have our share of local seasonal yummies around us. And don't get me started on music: Mozart to Bill Munroe to Van Morrison to Talking Heads - and a lot of in between.
