Where you’ll be

Akaroa, Canterbury, New Zealand

We are just up the road from Onuku Marae with public beach access where you can swim or kayak from in summer. There is also great mountain biking in the area. The bike park across the road from our property has several off-road trails see Akatrax for details and current fees to ride on the trails. (Note: We can store your mountain bikes out of sight from the road if you bring your own). In the summer months, you can walk out to Nikau Palm Gully DOC tramping track, approx 4-5 hours (8km) return from our Costal Cottage, which is accessed via Onuku Farm. You need to ring the landowner before getting permission to walk to Nikau Palm Gully, and the track is closed from 1 April to 30 September each year. As we are only 3km from Akaroa (in other directions), you can easily ride a bike or walk along Onuku Road to and from the township.
