We have a new house with a full basement. Basement includes 2 bedrooms with 5 beds; 2 bunk beds, 2 twin beds, and 1 double bed. Can accommodate more with a mattress on the floor. Full kitchen, bathroom, and living room. Includes TV and hot tub.

The space

We have almost 10 acres in the country. Have plenty room for motorcycles and a camper. Have a 3 door garage so will have room for some motorcycles, if needed.

Guest access

Entrance to the basement from the south side of the house. A patio and patio door are on the west side and provide the entryway.

Interaction with guests

We would interact with the guests as much as they want. We are both introverts so like our quietness but enjoy visiting with people.

Other things to note

We can accommodate 6 people; however, if only 2 people need beds, we can accommodate that also for a lesser price. Rental cost is $50/person/night.

Margie's place is fantastic--spacious and comfortable with a great view of the woods. And a short drive from Mt Rushmore and Rapid City. And Margie was a fantastic host and went above and beyond in helping me find all I needed in the area, and was also very friendly and great to chat with.

Margie is a very welcoming and kind host. She greeted me when I arrived and gave me a tour of the basement. She has extensive knowledge of the many attractions in the Black Hills area and how to maximize your time. Her husband was also very helpful in trying to better plan my visit to Badlands National Park. The living area, kitchen, bathroom, and bedrooms are all exceptional, spacious, and very comfortable. The view from the back porch is serene and you may even see some turkeys or other wildlife from your breakfast table. Everything you could want was there including a hot tub ready to go after a long drive. Margie's is a hidden gem in the Black Hills and I want to go back and explore the area some more. Amazing Airbnb experience.

Lovely view over trees and hills, two separate bedrooms and lots of space in the living room/kitchen area. It was a big bonus to have a kitchen to prepare a dinner and sandwiches to take to Black Hills the next day. Comfortable beds and quiet environment helped assure a restful night. And we looked at a meteor shower in the night sky while soaking in a hot tub on the patio - AMAZING! Only a couple of drawbacks: the apartment is in the basement of the owner's home and there is no separating door between the apartment and the stairs leading to their kitchen & living room so we could hear everything they said or did & I assume likewise for them. This gave us the feeling of being in the middle of someone's home. This was compounded by the owner's son coming downstairs unannounced at 6:00 a.m. to make coffee, and later to pour himself a cup. We were a bit rattled by this as we didn't expect it and we have two teenage daughters, so safety is an issue. I'm sure that there was no harm intended and he was very friendly but it made us uncomfortable. The kitchen was stocked with an odd assortment of dishes and it's possible that this was because we weren't supposed to use it for more than the breakfast items which were nicely presented on the table with a note that we were free to use these items (cereal, milk in the fridge, fruit, etc.) but we managed. A very nice place, overall if not a bit pricey.

Margie was a great host. I had something come up that delayed my trip a little and she was more the gracious working with me on my arrival time. The place was really nice lots of room and clean as a whistle. Didn't expect there to be food for breakfast and was nicely surprised to find it. And the price was perfect. I actually think she's under charging lol.

Margie's basement is awesome. It is spacious, it has great views, and there is an excellent selection of breakfast items for the morning (including some delicious homemade granola!). Margie was very friendly and helpful. She gave wonderful advice for sightseeing in the Black Hills which led to us seeing elk and buffalo. If you come to the Rapid City area, you have to stay here!
