★ Indoor
The stylishly designed interior, by a first-class architect who has renovated a 100-year-old warehouse and designed the Fuji Television Bayshore Studio and GINZA SIX, is of a higher quality.
We have a range of items to help you enjoy your stay in style, including a fridge, oven, induction cooker, coffee tools for coffee lovers, and a toaster that is popular with bread lovers.
It is cool at high altitudes, and you can enjoy the red-burning firewood stove until around October to May (depending on the climate).
The storehouse has thick walls, so you don't have to worry about noise like in a regular private lodging. If you close the window, you can play music at a high volume.
★ Outdoor
Enjoy breakfast and coffee on the scenic terrace, or have a bonfire or barbecue outdoors.(No loud noise outdoors after 8 pm)
We also offer activities that are part of rural life, such as strawberry picking, harvesting vegetables in the fields in summer, and wood splitting.
* Insects are common in summer, so please refrain from booking if you don't like them

The space
While the exterior retains its beautiful appearance that has withstood 100 years of wind and snow, the interior has been functionally and cleanly renovated by the host, who is an architectural designer.
The first floor has a dining room, kitchen, shower room, washroom, toilet connected by a hallway, and laundry space. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need for cooking, including cookware and dishes, as well as cooking classes.
The second floor is a spacious bedroom, with a comfortable queen-sized futon bed in the dimly lit space of an ancient storehouse. Thick earthen walls protect you from outside noise, and you can enjoy a quiet sleep as if sleeping in the deep forest, while feeling the air and presence of wildlife in the forest.
If there are 3 people, we will provide another set of bedding.

Guest access
The guest house and the host's residence are related to the detached house and the main house. You can use the entire warehouse, the toilet connected by the corridor, and the laundry space. There is a garden table in the stone paved area in front of the main house overlooking the satoyama, so please use it for barbecues, outdoor breakfasts, etc. You can also enjoy yoga and more in the square. There are no boundaries, such as gardens and fields, but you can enter freely. Depending on the season, we also provide strawberries and vegetables in the guest field.
There are 2 free parking spaces along the roadside about 200 m from the warehouse.

Other things to note
The hosts are a couple who moved from Tokyo in 2016 and are practicing a self-sufficient life. We renovated this warehouse ourselves. If you like, you can take advantage of a variety of activities related to country life, including advice on country life and moving, wood splitting, mushroom picking, wild vegetable picking, DIY guidance and cooking classes, etc., based on various real feelings that only practitioners can convey. (For those staying 2 nights or more, cooking classes are available for a minimum of 2 people. Personal lessons are also available, but they are expensive. We are also both rock climbers, so we can guide you to rocky areas. please feel free to ask.

Where you’ll be

Soja, Okayama, Japan

It is an area surrounded by quiet and beautiful rural mountains, which can be said to be the original Japanese landscape.
In the spring, the Mangata Dam, which faces the inn, is covered with cherry blossoms. Rape blossoms, lotus flowers, and wild flowers bloom all over, and wild vegetables such as Japanese pepper and edible chrysanthemum also appear.
In summer, the rice in the terraced rice fields sway in the breeze, and there is also a river where you can see fireflies. Located at the entrance to the forest, you can stay cool.
In the fall, the sight of the crimson leaves of the Japanese alpine chrysanthemum on the edge of the rice field attracts amateur photographers.
If you are lucky, you will encounter wild boars, deer, raccoon dogs, rabbits, nutrias, weasels, and various wild birds.
There is also a nearby famous temple, Kakekobiji Temple, famous for its autumn leaves.

It is a very natural place, but there are many delicious bakeries within a 30-minute drive, including Sosha-no-machi, Kurashiki, Bichu-Kokubun-ji Temple, and the castles of Bichu Matsuyama Castle and Tenkuu Castle, making it a great base for sightseeing.
