Situated on the edge of a pretty village, just outside Helston, all facilities of town are only a mile away, including twenty four hour supermarket. Great location to explore Cornwall, such as The Lizard Peninsula, Lands End, Penzance and St Ives, Falmouth and the Helford river, Porthtowan and Gwithian.

The whole property and garden.
A charming Cornish village deep in a wooded valley. Brilliantly located to explore much of south west Cornwall.
Penrose Estate is owned by the National Trust & has lots of walks.
Kynance Cove is very pretty and especially good for families with little ones as the water is very calm and shallow on one side - small cafe on beachside and lovely coastal walk to the Lizard - look out for seals.
A car is essential! An option some guests go for is to catch the train to Redruth 20 min drive and some car hire companies will meet you at the station.
Strict no smoking policy in the house and if smoking outside please dispose of cigarette butts responsibly.
Please leave house as found and all rubbish to be emptied into main bins outside and nearest recycling point is Tesco Helston.
Nothing to be put down toilets except toilet paper as septic tank will block quickly.
Although we left a 30degree sunny London for a 16degree rainy Cornwall Jane's lovely house served as the perfect place to see some of the most enchanted and wonderful things the area has to offer. Our daughters (aged 7 & 4) were in absolute heaven. The garden is a perfect adventure and the wildlife kept them enthralled.
Of an evening the house was warm and cosy and all four of us were very reluctant to leave.
If you're looking for the stepping stones, head down to the bridge and phone box and take a stroll down the bridle path and follow your ears.
Final note: the photos on the listing don't do this haven justice!
There were 6 of us (3 adults and 3 children). We very much enjoyed our stay. Everything was as advertised. Jane was always accessible to answer any of our questions before we left and during our week there. We would recommend staying here.
The reservation was canceled 2 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The house is pretty good and big. Lovely garden and quite environment are so suitable for family.
What a fantastic place to stay! The house is down a narrow no-through lane and the setting is simply beautiful. The description of the house is accurate and the garden is huge, just like a wood ... perfect for dogs! The house was very clean, the beds and sofas comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for relaxing baths and showers for 4. Porthleven is a short drive away and we found a great coffee shop called The Brew House selling really good Origin coffee and also ate at the amazing Clay Quay restaurant overlooking the harbour which specialises in fish and meat tapas dishes. We also visited St Ives and Watergate Bay ..always fabulous! Jane was a great host and answered all our questions before our trip promptly. Go ...you will love it!
We stayed at Om Shanti or 'Skeeber' as its called for 2 weeks and we had an amazing time. The location was so peaceful and beautiful. The garden was amazing for our 2 girls (4 and 7 yrs old) with big rocks to climb and the semi wild feel felt like an adventure for the girls to run around safely and freely.
The 2 bedrooms and open plan living was great for the 4 of us. With a nice large living area to make, paint, read, play games.
We all enjoyed the lack of a television and we didn't miss it!!! Though a better internet service would have been handy. We would really recommend this place to stay as a family, I think it would be too small for 2 families on holiday together. If we had to rate this lovely place we would rate it 9.5/10 Thanks fo a lovely holiday Om Shanti x
Jane was a very kind host, holding on to my requested dates for several weeks until I could confirm that we would indeed stay with her.
The barn is very secluded and the garden is full of plants and even some herbs, which was great.
No TV or Wifi but several board games and very comfortable sofas.
We were lucky with the weather, fantastic sunshine most of the week so were unable to make use of the log stove (which looked great!).

About the Host, Jane
You've probably already guessed from my listing, I love colour! I'm a painter and you will see some of my work on the walls. I like that Airbnb attracts lovely, interesting people and it feels like a friend, or friends of friends have stayed in my house. Usually in the city, it's always special to escape to Cornwall and walk the coastal paths and absorb the sea! Hope you enjoy it as much as me! :)
