Highly recommended experience in Chiang Mai. I spent four days in a beautiful wood house. The hosts Marcel and his beautiful wife Jim are friendly and helpful. They helped us to arrange the private wonderful elephant experience and Thai-massage. The doggies and cats are lovely. I…

Response from Marcel:
Dear Icy, yeah we are lucky to be a bit away from downtown. Downtown is so busy, noisy and dirty because of too many diesel cars with lot's of emissions. Next to the noisy dirty traffic there are too many city tourists living downtown now - so we hope you enjoyed the free bicycle trip we improvised on your second day. Living in the country side can give you deep looks inside the country and Thai society you like to explore. All places downtown are well known, rated and visited but here is still some unknown quality of life to enjoy - plus tranquility. People choosing us choose the slow and lovely country side life plus some views of the city if they bring along some extra nights to explore from here.

Marcel and Jim are very nice people. Jim made great food and showed my mom around. They are kind and helped her to find tour guide and go to another scenery spot. Although they met some problems, Jim solved them and kept nice. Thank you.

Hi my guests on the beach, I know the torential rain made it all so much more difficult first night coming home on your own. But there were a few more reasons: The storm a few days ago made the old Lamphoon road look darker as normal and you could not count the traffic lights to take the right turn. For other non self driving guests the shuttle bus is more easy. We bring you there and pick you up from there. Coming home in the night is more difficult and needs a taxi for 10 US. But the overall situation downtown is worse: Noisy and bad air from too much traffic in old city makes our village stay much more enjoyable - as long as you bring a couple of days to travel slow. Anyway you are now an old hand of Chiang Mai and will enjoy the motorbike even more - and I will go with you to find the small river roads to enjoy going downtown
