A beautifully simple location, wonderfully warm, genuine and welcoming atmosphere from our hosts - a perfect Icelandic experience which we would both repeat in a heartbeat. Selfoss is just a few kilometres away, but highly recommended for dinner in Stokkseyri is the local restaurant with Langoustine soup, heavy on the cream and all the better for it! With very best wishes to Heba & Christian...

A must for any traveler to Iceland! Heba and Kristjan are warm and welcoming. Stokkseyri is a beautiful town and staying with such gracious hosts is one of the best ways to learn about Iceland. I enjoyed every minute of the stay, especially Heba's breakfast, and would go back just to visit this area again.

Heba and Kristjan were two of the most welcoming hosts I have had in my Airbnb stays. I felt so at home. Their house was easy to find, the neighborhood was quiet, the room was cozy, and the place was very clean. They provided any and all recommendations I needed, and the breakfast that is included is great - homemade and delicious typical Icelandic options. It was such a treat to stay at their home. I would highly recommend this place to others traveling in the area looking for a place that is a little removed from the main tourist spots and has incredible views!

This was one of the highlights of our trip. It was a cold rainy day but we had such a lovely, cozy time in Stokkseyri. Heba was a great host and shared her family's history and art with us. She also made a delicious breakfast with hummus, smoked lamb and her fresh baked bread, which was phenomenal! The rye bread had such a unique flavor and the soda bread was fantastic! Best breakfast in Iceland! We had been on the road for a bit and had some long days and staying here felt like home for the night. Thanks to Heba and Kristjan for such gracious hospitality.

Where to even begin?! 10/10 would return to Guesthouse Heba on my next trip to Iceland. Heba, her husband Kristján and adorable dog Ódinn were the epitome of hospitality. From baking fresh bread for breakfast each morning (so delicious!), to giving helpful directions for our adventures and welcoming us home at night, our stay was exceptional. When we checked out, we felt like we were leaving family. The house itself was wonderful - very clean, comfortable beds, beautiful art/heirlooms, wonderful views, and a perpetual smell of baking bread. We wish it could be bottled into a candle for us to bring home! Stokkseyri was central to everything and easy to find, but removed from the "main drag" so was very quiet. We will absolutely be back on our next trip :-) THANK YOU, Heba and Kristján!!

Heba User Profile

In October 2014, I and my husband Kristján established "Guesthouse Heba", in our home at Íragerði 12, 825 Stokkseyri, Iceland.

In the village (at Hafnargata 9) we also operate "Gallery Heba"; a little pottery offering clay art as well as ceramics courses.

Heba is my artists name as well as the nickname from childhood - my full name is Herborg Auðunsdóttir. My husband is Kristján Geir Arnþórsson, a retired IT professional, specialised in quality and security.
