The double accommodation consists of a private entrance room attached to the main house. Guests have the use of an enclosed garden where they can relax on the patio, enjoy mountain views or watch birds, maybe adding the endemic Cape Sugarbird to their list. Voëlklip beach is down the road, from where one can walk the cliffpath to town and watch Southern Right Whales in the bay (July-Nov). Access to the mountain contour path is close-by and leads you past Fernkloof gardens all the way into town.
The semi-open plan accommodation offers a bedroom with double bed, kitchenette, shower & separate toilet with hand basin. The kitchenette is suitable for preparation of light meals and is equipped with a microwave, (*no stove*) small fridge, crockery & cutlery plus hostess tray. For the outdoors folk there is an open air shower.
Our guests park behind a remote controlled gate and have a separate entrance to their accommodation. They have the use of an undercover patio and B-B-Q in a sunny, enclosed semi-private garden.
Interaction with guests
Although we live on the property we respect our guests' privacy. We are always available for a chat and are happy to advise on local attractions to ensure you have a pleasant visit to Hermanus.
Our hobbies are bird-watching & golf and we are active in our local 'University of the 3rd Age' (U3A) branch.
Other things to note
There are 3 restaurants, a convenience store & three swimming beaches within 10 minutes walk of Palmers Place.
We would like our guests to enjoy & respect our property as they would their own. Smoking allowed on the patio. Sorry no pets.
My husband and I live a peaceful life in Hermanus where we are involved with various clubs. We love nature, bird watching, camping, yoga and golf. We don't need glitz and glamour to make us happy, we rather prefer to have long lunches with good friends.
We enjoy meeting our guests and learning about their lifestyle, country, passions.
