Marlowe and Tony are great hosts; they communicate well, help you to get settled and are just really nice people. The house is in a great location! You are close to town and close to the trails. It is spacious with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and if you have a toddler with you there are enough toys to keep her/him busy. The kitchen is very well equipped and overall there is more than enough space to live very comfortably, also on a rainy day - rain; something that might happen in Juneau. They even came by with full-body rain-gear for our 2-year old - from their little one - so she could play in the sandbox outside while it was drizzling. That was really sweet. Marlowe and Tony, we hope to see you again, soon!

Very highly recommend staying at Marlowe and Tony's place if you visit Juneau. This charming home is in a great neighborhood. Three bedrooms, two full bathrooms, large kitchen, plus a beautiful living room and covered deck make their home ideal for a family vacation. Excellent communication from the hosts as well.

This is a fantastic location for people that love to walk and that like stairs and steep slopes. Very quiet and green oasis with easy access to hiking, the downtown tourist area, and all the attractions of Juneau. The house has lots of space, with one main floor bedroom and two up a steep staircase. The upstairs is a bit challenging (but still workable) for taller people. After walking to both the food co-op and the local market, we cooked several meals and managed to find all the tools we needed in the kitchen. The host has made the house very welcoming, with everything from fresh local coffee, to a great box of tourist brochures, to fluffy towels and soft sheets.

Marlowe & Tony's house was a perfect space for my family for over a week's stay for my wedding. The home is cozy & comfortable and well appointed for its guests. It is both close to town but quiet and in a great location all around. The hosts were very gracious and I would definitely recommend this spot to anyone!

As we had communicated previously, I would rate your place more than 5 stars, I felt as though we were housesitting for a friend. So comfortable and homey. Beds, space, cooking possibilities, décor, cleanliness, so many little touches to make you feel good. Good vibe. I would love to get to know you all better (and your parents). There was nothing more we needed and we received much more than we expected. If you want information on what to do in Juneau... here is our experience: the car rental place was terrific - used cars - great value - for what we used it for. Juneau Car Rental Co., near the airport - they pick you up and bring you back to the airport. After getting the car and going to the market by the airport to get picnic yummies - that first day - we took a ride up the coast from the airport to Chapel by the Lake, by Auke Bay Harbor, Ate our lunch at the point on Auke Bay, went to the Shrine of St. Therese, and up to the Jensen-Olsen Arboretum... and then to our home away from home. We had dinner at the Hangar on the Wharf. Perfect first day. Since the sun was out the 2nd day (good news) we did a lot: 3 hr Juneau Whale Watching Tour ( exciting - saw 10-12 humpback bubble netting - crew was terrific), then did Mendenhall Glacier - watched movie at Visitor's Center, saw their exhibits -- took two hikes around the area, Nugget Falls, etc, (wonderful!). If we had more time I would have wanted to take the long boat on the lake and maybe do an Ice cave adventure there. Then we did the Tram .... it was interesting - but expensive what what is there $33 per person. NIce views, good nature walk with amazing views of Juneau - but ??? We cooked amazing fresh salmon at home... AWESOME DAY!! Next day did Adventure Bound Alaska, Tracy Arm Glacier Cruise - a full day... takes a while... brought cards to play with our friends and brought our own picnic. Although long - we highly recommend it...close up to the glacier, saw bears, etc. I would bring books to read, etc.. Then finished off the salmon left over from the night before for dinner. Fabulous DAY!. Last day -- Sealaska Museum - good, gift shop wonderful. Spent the day walking around Juneau and visiting many of the shops and bought gifts. Great shop 2 blocks up from the REd Dog Saloon - (which was fun) - on the L side. I believe Bong is the owner or manager... lots of beautiful pieces and good prices. Met some other friends and ate at the Twisted FISH. I splurged and had the King Crab Legs (I was in heaven). Wished we tried Tracy's Crab shack and Deck Hand's Dave.... but there was only so much we could eat. Our trip to Juneau was certainly one...

Marlowe & Tony User ProfileMarlowe & Tony is a superhost.

Hi! We are looking forward to welcoming you to Juneau. A bit about ourselves…
Marlowe's family moved here when she was just one year old. After graduating high school, doing some traveling and finally earning her bachelors degree in Nursing she returned to Juneau. Tony is originally an Oregonian but has been in Juneau 18 years now. He worked as a boat captain for a local tour company for many years and is now self employed as a carpenter.
We have been together for 14 years, traveling some but mostly here in Juneau. Our son was born in October of 2013 and we love showing him the woods, beaches, whales, trails and parks that surround us.
We live just two blocks from the listed house and are available by phone should you need anything. We enthusiastically love this town and if you wish can be available to share local travel tips, dining recommendations or bear stories!
