The John Hunt Base at Hagg Farm provides comfortable accommodation for up to eighteen people near Ashopton, just off the Snake Pass.

There are four bedrooms, a mixture of dormitory-style bunk rooms and smaller rooms with single beds. A lounge/dining room with bench seating and tables. There are two bathrooms and a kitchen.

There is parking for six cars in the courtyard in front.

The property is ideally placed for Fairholmes and the Derwent Dams, hillwalking and other outdoor activities.

The space
The front door opens into an entrance hall with benches and plenty of hooks for hanging outdoor gear and storing boots. Off the entrance hall is an accessible bathroom with toilet and shower.

The property has an open-plan lounge/dining room with bench seating, tables, TV and wi-fi.

Off the lounge/dining room is the kitchen with sink, oven/hob, fridge/freezer, microwave and kettle.

There are two bedrooms off the lounge/dining room. An eight-bed bunkroom with plenty of space and a smaller bedroom with two single beds.

Also accessed from the entrance hall is another modern bathroom with toilet and two showers in individual cubicles. At the end of the entrance hall are the remaining two bedrooms with six-bed bunk room and a small bedroom with two single beds.

Guest access
Guests have sole use of the John Hunt Base building, use of grass/picnic are at front of building and shared use of car park.

There are six BP Pulse electric vehicle chargers in the car park which are available for the use of guests. However if you will want to use the chargers you will need to contact us well before your visit so that we can leave a RFID card out for you. EV charging at Hagg Farm OEC is not metered but we charge £10 inc. VAT per charge and this must be arranged and paid for with a credit card well before your visit. These chargers cannot be used with either the BP Pulse app or your own BP Pulse RFId card.
