About this listing

Spacious, super private and quiet room with these amenities: kitchen corner with microwave, tea kettle, coffee machine, toaster and small fridge. Comfy armchair with lamp, a desk, a closet, a bed and a bathroom all to yourself. Access to a lovely garden. NOT FOR SMOKERS OR FOR GUESTS ALLERGIC TO CATS (read on..).

The space

Possession of a San Francisco Short-Term Rental Registration Certificate certifies that the registration certificate holder has agreed to comply with the terms of the San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Ordinance (San Francisco Administrative Code Section 41a). This ordinance does not require an inspection of the unit by the City for potential building, housing, fire or other code violations.

If you are passing through San Francisco and need a place to stay for a few nights that is close to highways (2 minutes by car from 101 and 280), transportation (Muni buses and Bart) and lots of nice stores and restaurants (Cortland Avenue + Mission Street) in the friendliest neighborhood in the city, then this is the room for you. You have your own private bathroom and a room opening into a sunny yard. The room is very quiet and equipped with free wi-fi, a microwave + drip coffee maker and a small fridge for your breakfast needs. The bed is a very comfortable single bed (twin size). A lazy-chair for your reading needs and a comfortable office chair + desk in case you need to do any work at the computer complete the furnishing. When it is cold out, you can turn the heating on (we have an electric base board heater, very efficient). Just turn it off when you are not there, to help us keep our electrical bill in check. We live upstairs and will be happy to direct you around our pleasant neighborhood. We are also very close to the largest farmers' market and flee market in San Francisco.

We do need a deposit to confirm the reservation. Airbnb will collect it from you and will give it back to you 48 hours after your departure.

MINIMUM STAY: 4 nights.

When you apply, PLEASE WRITE A PROFILE describing where you live, what you do, have your PORTRAIT PHOTO (just you) posted in the query, add your interests/hobbies and something that can give us a better idea of you. Also, add any previous hosts' review of you as a guest. In addition, for your protection, in case you should fall ill and need emergency care while at my house, I will need to make a copy of your photo ID when you check in (and of course it is for my protection too :) ). You can also scan and email it to me, after I confirm your booking. Either way it is fine. Thank you for your cooperation.

Occasionally you may see our she CAT passing by your room door, she will not enter your room unless you invite her in. She is an outdoor cat and gets out through another pathway than your room. If you are not big on cats, you can just keep your door closed and she will be very discreet. But if you are very allergic, you may want to find another arrangement.

My stay with Cecilia was easily the best Airbnb experience I've had so far. First, the neighborhood is just great ,there are many small shops, bars, restaurants and cafes very close and there is a beautiful view on SF from many of the streets nearby. At the same time, there are many public transport routes in walking distance. Also, the neighborhood is quiet and feels very safe. Second, Cecilia's place is wonderful, it is very uniquly and lovingly decorated, and has all the necesarry appliances. It is also very quiet, has a beautiful garden and lots of room. Lastly, Cecilia has been a very attentive and caring host. She was extremely friendly and helpful all the time and made me feel at home right away. Thanks a lot Cecilia, I hope to return at some point!

The place was just what I needed. It is near my son's house. Cecilia was accommodating to my needs, she met my grandsons and chatted with them, she provided food I requested, she had great arrangements for access at any time, the place was comfortable and she provided everything necessary for a comfortable time. The place is quiet, easy to work in and everything was clean and worked perfectly. I would stay there again any time.

Cecilia was such a supportive host. This was my first AirBnB experience and I felt so very comfortable from the first hour to the very last. My room had everything it needed. She ensured I knew my surroundings, best modes of transportation, and local attractions. She's receptive, approachable, and wonderful. I'd recommend her to anyone.

so where do I start ?! To use the words of Bilbo Baggins - concerning Cecilia: she is the most friendly host I've met so far. Already alone the communications prior to my visit was great. Arriving at her house I was welcomed very friendly. she has helped out with all me (the bus rides /-stations, a map, where to find all the little things for everyday life,...) and was always available (phone, oder email via Airbnb). with such a host makes Airbnb fun. Those who come to San Francisco should try to live @ Cecilia's home. And if I come back, I will try to.

I loved both room (including the small backyard where you can have breakfast on a sunny morning) and the neighborhood with its stores, Cafés, Restaurants & views. Even though it is not too close to downtown, there are several options to get there and a ride on bus no 24 is kind of a sightseeing tour in itself. Cecilia was a very nice, helpful, considerate and generous host who e.g. inquired in advance about my breakfast preferences, answered my questions and helped me with my laundry. Both my arrival and departure went smoothly. As concerns the fridge an earlier guest mentioned: I just wore ear plus and slept really well in the comfy bed. Last but not least: Cecilias cat is a real cutie! Thanks - will come back or check out Lecce!

Cecilia was so kind and gracious to have everything provided for me and to make her place feel like home. She was also so sweet to wait for me on Sunday morning. Her house was absolutely wonderful and exactly as described. It was very spacious and everything was set up better than hotel! And it was my best choice to stay in Bernal Heights, I spent much of my time walking around the neighborhoods and went up to the Bernal Heights park every morning. And Muni no. 24, the bus took me everywhere I wanted to go in San Francisco. Especially I highly recommend you to go to the Land’s End. You can get there by transferring to Muni 38 at Gaery Street. You’ll see the best view of Golden Bridge from there. I would love to stay here again!

Cecilia User ProfileCecilia is a superhost.

Hi, my name is Cecilia. I am from Rome but live in San Francisco. I love good food, books about history, philosophy, art, anthropology, and film. I dream about having free time to read good novels. I love classical music, jazz, arabic music, and traditional indian dance. My favorite travel destination: a hammock in the shade near the sea, preferably on a hill, a cold tea with lemon and sugar and a good book and also the desire to sleep without a work deadline.
As a guest I am independent and curious. As a host I like clear communication and would like for my guest to feel at home and welcome.
My motto: a day at the time.
