I had a short stay in Costa Rica and decided to stay here for the proximity to Arenal Volcano and the jungle. William and his wife picked me up from the airport and he pointed out so much incredible stuff to see during the 2.5 hour drive. We even saw a black panther cross the road! They made me an amazing dinner for a small fee once we arrived and I decided to also have the breakfast and lunch options which was just as good. I did the morning waterfall walk with Will and two other guests I met during breakfast. I recommend doing that before you leave. I didn't know how to turn on the hot water so I ended up taking cold showers but it was manageable. It was hot but the fan works perfectly fine even without A/C. The wifi worked fine in my room and common areas. Overall, I highly recommend staying here especially if you're looking to stay in the rainforest, relax, and hopefully you have a chance to catch a clear view of the volcano right outside your room. You will love it and everyone there is great. Thanks to Jonathan for setting up the Airbnb and responding promptly. And thanks to William and the team's hospitality. I'll be back!

Great place, really in the middle of the rainforest. It was easy enough to get to by car but I'm not sure how it would work if you weren't driving. Overall great stay and good value for money. Really cute doggies too which is always a bonus

It was a good place, some things could be update. Great place for the price, little far from restaurants and stores. Ok if you have a car but if you dont please do your research. Communication was great and very friendly

Wonderful stay at Jonathan's property, from the checking to departure and advise everything was great, such a unique property with lots of character, Will is a very genial host and very welcoming, the gardens, pools and waterfalls were beautiful and there were pleasant surprises around every corner, a five star experience and will defiantly stay again if I was in the area. Loved the homely feel of the kitchen arrangements and the food was first class.

This place is truly wonderful. My boyfriend and I extended our stay by two more days loving every minute. You feel part of a family and can tell the people working there love what they do. Breathtaking views of the volcano and learning about the recourses of the mountain and jungle are also a huge plus! So much to do, I definitely recommend this place to everyone wanting an authentic stay in the jungle. Superb! It's a true Pura Vida living you won't forget

Jonathan's eco-lodge was so much more than I expected! It is surrounded by deep jungle and is very peaceful. The building is Rustic in the best way, and sitting in a swing on the porch, with the jungle 5' away, and a full view of the volcano, was deeply relaxing. The staff was helpful and thoughtful. Meals can be purchased, which appealed to our need for some basic, healthy food after so much restaurant eating. The seating is family-style and it was so interesting to talk to people from all over the world, as well as the perfect opportunity to get tips for the best excursions. We took a nature hike with Will through the property, down a river, and through the jungle, which was crazy fun, and I highly recommend it. I only wish that we had booked more days. For the ultimate Costa Rica an experience I suggest that you do stay here. One thing to keep in mind, the road is rough and I had upgraded my rental car for a 4 Wheel Drive which saved the day. I would actually recommend this for much of Costa Rica If you want to go out exploring.

This place was AMAZING!!!! After reading some of the other reviews I was kind of skeptical but remember that this is the rainforest and if you are looking for a great experience this is it!!! There is no AC but a fan that works well. They have 2 dogs that are so sweet and 2 sweet cats as well. They have a lovely view of the volcano and are secluded yet close to town as well. The pathway around the ecolodge has a lovely waterfall at the end. We didn't do the tour but instead found it on my own and was a lovely surprise! The breakfast and dinners there were so worth getting and they tasted better than the 5 star resort I stayed in later in the week! William and William were both very helpful in recommending things to do in the area and even helped us book our outings which was a HUGE help!!!! I would highly recommend!

I left England when was 18 and hitch-hiked through Europe,Africa to India overland which was a life forming experience,. I left with about $100 and returned 2 yrs later ..I had little money I stayed with local people ,or hostels or slept rough whatever I needed to do. Later as a professional investment consultant I have lived in Hotels throughout Latin America for nearly 20 years. I can tell you the best way to travel is not always in Hotels ...experience living and sharing with the local way of life ,with real people it is a far richer more rewarding experience. I believe in the concept of integrated tourism this is what we offer it is a much better way to travel ...
