This house resides on a peninsula called the Isle of Que. It is a two-bedroom charming home on the waterfront of the Susquehanna River and the home of Susquehanna University. The house has a fully furnished kitchen, waterfront deck, enclosed front porch, pool, outdoor fireplace, and hot tub.

The space

This is a waterfront, historical property on the picturesque Isle of Que peninsula in the small town of Selinsgrove, PA. USA. It is a five mile isle along the Susquehanna River and Penn's Creek. The house is in a residential section of town, but is within walking distance of the downtown restaurants, bars, and shops.

Guest access

The house is five minutes from Susquehanna University and twenty minutes from Lewisburg, home of Bucknell University. Sports packages, personal trainers, chefs, and a reflexologist are available upon request. The Weis center for the performing arts at Bucknell University hosts live, renowned musicians, artists, performance groups, and concerts. Tickets can be purchased in advance or the guest house owners will schedule the outings for the guests. The sports arena at Bucknell University is a high energy venue for both men's and women's basketball.

Access to major cities such as Philadelphia, Washington DC and New York City, a 2-3 hour drive, present an opportunity for historical field trips, sporting events, or artistic and musical adventures for singles, couples, families, or business associates with guest house as a home base for travel.

The 4.8 mile peninsula is surrounded by a river and a creek with bridge access from the town of Selinsgrove to the house and isle. The outdoor enthusiast may view the peninsula as a haven for wildlife, fishing, hunting, and boating. Native sportsmen have enjoyed the beauty and serenity of the Isle of Que for generations and enjoy sharing the lore with those experiencing it for the first time. Kayaking, boating, fishing, and taking walks on the riverfront are favorite pastimes of the locals.

We throughly enjoyed both stays at the Isle of Que guest house while visiting our son at Bucknell for parent's weekend and graduation. Christi was so welcoming and left lovely snacks and beverages and encouraged us to use all the many amenities (kayaks, pool, hot tub and more!) She had wonderful recommendations for places to eat and things to do. The house was spotless and comfortable and such a nice change from the hotels we had stayed at prior. We highly recommend this lovely and relaxing spot.

This is a really pleasant get-a-way. They have nicely merged modern amenities with an appearance of the old. More importantly for a city-dweller, the house is tight enough that unless someone is doing something especially energetic outside, the house is infused with the silence of peace, and, when your jangled nerves have settled back down, you can pop in your own CD's and enjoy the sounds of your choice without all the distracting side-noise. There is a large window in the living room and a delightful porthole-like window at the top of the stairs through which you can watch the river glide by, see the antics of the squirrels, or ponder the activities of all the birds. During the 9 days I was there Cardinals, Blue Jays, Robins, Finches, Sparrows, and Blackbirds made near-daily appearances, as did wild Ducks, Geese, small Gulls, and Swifts out on the river, whose darting, swirling, diving, dabbling, and/or paddling were a joy to watch. To top it off, I was afforded a nice view of an big Osprey that came and made some circles through the air close to the house as well. Definitely a nice respite if you are getting worn down by trying to do the too much too fast in the midst of the too many who are likewise hurrying through the too noisy land of brick, block, and concrete.

Everything about this stay was amazing! The house is beautiful, spacious, and stocked with everything we needed. The view and river access were the best. Everything was above and beyond. Cannot recommend enough.
