Deborah's home is comfortable, spacious and inviting. Our family had a lovely time staying there. The view is breathtaking! Although it is quite remote and secluded, the home is in a central location for traveling around Northern New Mexico. We enjoyed being there very much!

Stunning location, great place and super supportive host , always just a text or a phone call away. Lowlanders, be aware of altitude (8000ft plus ) and plan for it. Definite recommend.

Getting up to the house was a bit difficult because of the ice and snow, but the overall stay was absolutely amazing! The house was gorgeous and looked exactly like the pictures. The view from the balconies were beautiful as well. The kitchen was very spacious, so cooking Christmas dinner for 6 people was a breeze. If you're looking for a place to stay that has complete solitude and is quiet, then this is the house for you. The only thing is if you have multiple people coming, then you should probably bring an extra TV for the bedroom as there are only 2 available (one in the living room and one in the master bedroom). There are no TVs in the guest bedrooms. Other than that, everything was phenomenal.

The place is amazing and the view is mind blowing. Deborah is very responsive. She sent me very detailed instructions before the check in date. Help yourself wine and liquor made us feel like home. Overall highly recommended.

Deborah and Coley’s house is every bit as remarkable as the pictures suggest. It’s an awesome bit of architecture, improbably but perfectly situated and designed to provide sweeping views of the sort you usually need to spend a couple hours of hiking to achieve. It’s furnished and decorated warmly and outfitted with absolutely everything I could possibly need. It’s just perfect if you’re looking to be out of town and enjoy the incredible scenery. I had Spring weather, but I’d love to be there again with the snow. Getting to the house is easier than one would imagine given the sense of remoteness you feel once there. It’s an easy, relatively short drive from Santa Fe (perhaps 40 mins all told from the Plaza or Farmers Market), and the last 10 minutes on the well-serviced dirt road posed no difficulties, though a 4x4 is recommended. And its location proved a great jumping off point for exploring the sights between Santa Fe and Taos. In Deborah and Coley, you have the most generously hospitable and interesting hosts imaginable. I typically rent out a place to myself, but I consider it amazing good luck that they were there and welcomed me as a sharing guest. They went above and beyond the call to provide invaluable local advice that really made my visit special. But in fact, getting to know them and enjoying their company turned out to be the best part of the trip.

What an incredible experience! This lovely home was a wonderful retreat for my family. The listing did a beautiful job of describing all of the great amenities. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They were readily accessible to answer any questions we had. They are very generous and have all that you would need to enjoy a relaxing getaway. The views were so inspiring! It was wonderful to wake up in a cozy bed and just look out the window to breathtaking views of a valley and mountains in the background. We spent countless hours in front of the wood burning fireplace. My husband and pup took long hikes around the property. The fully equipped kitchen was great to cook Christmas dinner. All in all, a fantastic experience and we are hoping to come back in the future.

Response from Deborah:
We so loved having Danielle and her family enjoy their baby's firth Christmas in our beloved mountain home. They were delightful guests who relished the remote location and embraced the sense of sanctuary. One small note: I asked Danielle about her comment on trash so we could get rid of it, and she indicated it was limited to the dining room: a basket with paper in it and some QTips in the corner, left over from touch ups to our diamond trowel plaster. That was a relief and easy to address.

Husband Coley and I split our time between our New Mexico home and our headquarters in Mississippi. We love our mountain home, which has tremendous architectural presence with easy design and very comfortable living. Though it looks like -- and is -- an icon, it is actually quite cosy. Good for couple or families looking for retreat, or a novelist or academic working on project that requires peace. Hiking trails abound.

Life motto: if it is not fun, don't do it. Worry is a waste of imagination.
