Gorgeous views and sunsets await you at your home away from home! It feels as if you are sitting on the edge of the world. As you enjoy sunsets and whale watching from the comfort of the large picture windows in the living room.

The space

Perched high above the beautiful Beverly Beach with a panoramic view from Newport's historic Yaquina Head Lighthouse all the way to Cape Foul Weather, you'll find this wonderful escape! Discover all there is to offer in this centrally located home away from home. This unique "getaway-from-it-all" is located between Newport and Depoe Bay. Large living room windows provide a great place to watch the whales migrate past this location twice a year. Many resident whales hang out all year long!! Better yet...enjoy amazing sunsets at dusk and the allure of the lighthouse throughout the night! The view from this location can't be beat!!

Simple Pleasures sits on a large naturally landscaped lot surrounded by trees and native vegetation. Located on a tranquil dead end street, just a short distance from beach access.

Perhaps the best aspect of renting a private house is sleeping soundly! Just imagine letting the sounds of the waves gently lull you to sleep! Now picture staying at a multiunit location, feet stomping around on your ceiling, kids screaming at all hours, and house keeping knocking on your door because you forgot to hang that silly little sign on the doorknob! Our little getaway is beginning to sound perfect right about now!

If you think the cost of renting an entire house is high, just think about the cost of renting a hotel room! Hotels average about $125 to $200 per night for a single room unit that can be noisy and, let's face it, typically lacks personality and all around coziness!

A beach house is the perfect getaway for a larger family or multiple couples looking for a private and affordable place to stay. We do not add on extra charges based on occupancy and there is plenty of room in this cozy little cottage!

Excellent arrangement from the early reservation through all communications. Entry easy with instructions given and complete and helpful visit instructions placed in print including suggestions for worthwhile places to visit or dine at. View from the sofa at the large window towards the ocean gave us sunny days and some storms showing the oceans beauty and ferocity, and yes, we did see whales blowing. The fire-pit softened the smores and warmed us while the chat and banter flowed in the family. Everything needed for us was there with spares as needed. Position on the bluff blocked the automobile sounds from the 101 leaving us to sleep soundly to the soft noises of the waves.

The house was just wonderful. Fabulous view of the ocean. We sat in the living room and watched sunsets, and at night the lighthouse. We used the fire pit for family time and samore's. We picked blackberries and ate with our family breakfasts around the table that seats 6. Home away from home. Comfortable and wonderful linens. Close to the beach, and between Newport and Depot Way where we whale watched.

Susan was fantastic as a host-- great communication, great response time, always available, friendly, and she helped us with a few items that we needed, and even replaced some broken outdoor chairs on the spot. Neat house--It was quite windy and chilly for late August, so we were indoors more than we expected, and luckily the house is both cozy and has a good amount of space. So nice to be able to hear the ocean and to have such a stunning view of it! Lots of places to sit to enjoy it, and stay warm and cozy. The house accommodated our family of 8. The beds in the three bedrooms accommodate three couples (plus one), and then there are couches; so one couple slept in a tent in the yard. It's a nice yard with plenty of space. We wish we'd used the firepit, but it was so windy that we didn't try. The walk to the beach is through a sweet, quiet neighborhood and a park. Once we got that figured out we were all set. Would definitely stay there again!

Great private spot on the edge of the world! House is well appointed and has a great yard with a fire pit, so bring some firewood and enjoy the great views while sitting around the campfire. Susan was great to work with.

Ryan, That is exactly how I feel about the house. It's like you are sitting on the edge of the world with nothing between you and the endless ocean! So glad you enjoyed :) You are welcome back anytime!

We had a wonderful time! The house had everything we needed. We were able to go to all the area attractions we wanted to. Almost every morning we saw whales traveling up the coast line. There were trails that we hiked and there were local shops for those of us that wanted something less strenuous. In the evening we either went to the beach and roasted marshmallows or we stayed at the house and had a fire in the fire pit. My kids had a great time doing yoga and jogging on the beach! There was something for everyone to do or you didn't have to do anything at all except relax and enjoy the view.

Response from Susan:
Sorry you had to deal with those pesky ants. They can be a random problem in Newport but we usually just get a few hear and there and the ant traps normally work great. I was surprised how many there were all of a sudden. Sorry for the inconvenience

Hello, Traveler!

I am a small business owner with two gift stores (Wind Drift Gallery and Childish Tendencies) on the Bayfront in Newport, Oregon. I keep pretty busy with my businesses and my rental home you're checking out here. When I have free time, I love taking my grandson to the beach! He can't get enough of it (and neither can I!). I have a forever ravenous toy Pomeranian and a goofy Golden Doodle who keep me company on my solo beach walks. You won't find many beaches better than the ones we have here!

I don't get to travel much, but living in a tourist town lets me to travel vicariously through all of the visitors passing through. On the rare occasion that I do get to travel, I love Hawaii. A very different sort of beach than here.

If you'd like to know anything else, feel free to ask. Happy travels!
