Skye Cuillin View is a traditional two-bedroom 19th century former farm house, situated at Struanmore on the rugged northwest coast of the Isle of Skye. Nestled within private garden grounds, it affords one of the most commanding and breathtaking views of Loch Harport and the Cuillin Ridge in all of Skye. Despite the privacy that it affords, many of Skye's natural and manmade wonders are close by, including the Fairy Pools, Neist Point & Dunvegan Castle, all within a 30 minute drive.

The space
The cottage is a 150 year old former farm house, tastefully renovated with modern integrated kitchen and bathroom, separate dining and living spaces, two upstairs bedrooms one containing the master king size bed and the other two single beds. The heating system is modern providing instant heat and hot water to the house on demand. The location is peaceful and very private, accessed via it's own track, with wild rabbits roaming the garden, and views down to the mountains and shore.

Neighbourhood highlights

Skye Cuillin View is a renovated 20th Century croft house, nestled within peaceful garden grounds at the heart of Struanmore, with views across Loch Bracadale to Skye's infamous Black Cuillin ridge. We are centrally located, with Portree, the Island's capital, situated only a 20 minute drive to the north-east over the 'hill road'. To the northwest, 15 minutes away by car is our nearest village of Dunvegan and is host to Dunvegan Castle & Gardens; the seat of the Clan McLeod. From Dunvegan, a further 20-25 minutes will see you arrive at the beautiful golden sands of Coral Beach, or if you were to take the Glendale road, the rugged NW peninsular of Neist Point. East from Dunvegan along the Portree road will also see you arrive at the beautiful Waternish Peninsular within a further 20 minutes, which is home to the world renowned 'Skye Skyns', while travelling southeast 20 minutes will see you back at Sligachan, the heart of the Cuillin mountain range, and the base for a range of classic mountain walks for any climbers or intrepid explorers. The Fairy Pools are also in this direction on the Carbost road. So, from the cottage you can be within range of a good selection of Skye's natural and manmade wonders within 20 minutes in either direction!

The rugged coast of Struanmore and NW Skye in general is host to a diverse range of wildlife. Dolphins are regular visitors to Loch Bracadale during the summer months, as are the occasional killer and minke whale. Golden Eagles, white-tailed ('sea eagle') and gannets - three of Britain's largest birds of prey - are residents of the Loch and its shores. The shore can be accessed via the gate at the bottom of the garden. On the smaller scale, our gardens are host to families of wild rabbits all year round, while we are privileged enough to host a Corncrake during the spring, one of Britain's most secretive birds and one of only 13 to be counted on the Island. Listen out on quiet evenings for his distinctive calls!
