Almost at the end of the dead end street you can stop. Because you go to sleep in a lovely house by the forest. In silence. With at most the sound of the trees. To be woken up by birds in the morning. A forest walk starts almost at the front door here. And the only unexpected guests are birds, a fox or a cheeky squirrel.
Here you can recharge, enjoy and unwind.

The space
Located on the border of National Park “Brunssummerheide” you will find our bungalow. My grandparents built the bungalow after the war, and I re-designed it in 2011. The bungalow is 140 square meters. Throughout the bungalow you will find a beton cire floor with floorheating. Big windows at the back of the bungalow make sure you can enjoy the big garden at any time of year. In the living room and in one (of the two) bedrooms you will find garden doors, so you can enjoy the singing of the birds in the morning and evening.

The garden is approximately 1200 square meters, so there is plenty of room to light up the barbecue or play with your (grand)children. When it’s warm, just put a blanket under the tree for some nice shade. Open the garden doors, get a drink and relax.

At the other side of the garden is National Park Brunsummerheide with the beautiful vast South Limburg hills. Stroll across the moors, walk through the woods, wetlands and Rode Beek. And when you visit in August enjoy the magical purple heather! Even the experienced hiker can stay here for hours without meeting a passer. If you want to go cycling or mountainbiking you’re in a perfect spot. Explore the Brunsummerheide or take your bike and visit Valkenburg and climb the famous Cauberg from the Amstel Gold Race. The cetrum of Heerlen is about 5 minutes drive. In the city center is “het Glaspaleis”, a beautiful architectural building with a rooftop restaurant.

There are a lot of things to do within a 20 minute drive:

Maastricht:
The beautiful capital of the South. Enjoy shopping and the Burgundian lifestyle.

Valkenburg:
A picturesque village with old Roman ruins and a beautiful scenery.

Vaals:
Visit Holland, Belgium and Germany in three steps!
