We offer a nice room in our lovely apartment.
Our simple set up includes 2 beds (200x90cm), storage space for luggage and clothing and fresh towels in a clean and light room. Free WiFi / internet access is available if you bring your own computer or you can use ours.
The open kitchen is well equipped with everything you might need for your everyday cooking purposes. We are happy to share the basics (salt, olive oil, etc.) so you don't have to buy things you will not end up using during a short stay.
Despite the proximity to all the nightlife and other activities our apartment is in a family-friendly and quiet neighbourhood.
The dining area seats 4 people. The pull-out table and extra chairs allow to seat more people however.
Our living room is spacious and bright, with a reading corner and lots of reading material in German and English.
There is a table on the balcony and we also have a sunbed for the warmer time of the year.

As mentioned above the kitchen, living room, balcony and bathroom are shared so please be considerate, we try our best too.

My boyfriend and I live in the same apartment, in the room next door actually. So generally we are around in case you need anything. Having lived in the city for more or less our entire lives we are both glad to advise you on your plans, sightseeing, museum visits or anything else in the city of Zurich.

We speak German, English, Polish, some French and some Italian.

The neighborhood has a lot to offer. Our direct surrounding is peaceful and quiet. However we live in close proximity to much of the nightlife and cultural happening of the city. Zurich being a rather small city with good public transportation our apartment is particularly well located with many connections close by.

The part of town we live in is called Kreis 4, "Aussersihl" or, in the vernacular, "Chreis Cheib". Our quarter used to be where a lot of seasonal workers and their families lived but has gone through many changes in the past 20 to 40 years. It is close to the epicenter of arts and culture in Zurich, with many world renowned galleries and museums. Bars, clubs and restaurants are all close by and the beautiful river Limmat is only 10 minutes away if you want to take a swim, go for a walk or a run.

Within 5-15 minutes walking distance:
- Supermarket
- Organic food store
- River & baths
- Restaurants & Cafés
- Bars & clubs (Langstrasse and the area around the Hardbrücke/Escher-Wyss-Platz)
- Cinemas
- Parks (small for international standards): Bullingerwiese, Fritschewiese, Bäckeranlage
- the Löwenbräu-Areal with many international galleries and museums such as the Kunsthalle Zürich or the Migros Museum
- Prime Tower
- Theater (Schiffbau)

Within 15-20 minutes travel (walking and/or public transportation):
- Flea markets
- Kunsthaus
- Opera
- Lake Zurich
- Parks
- Schauspielhaus
- Bahnhofstrasse
- Old town (Niederdorf/Oberdorf)

Public Transportation:

Within 3-5 minutes walking distance:

Tram Stop: 'Lochergut' (Tram 2, Tram 3)
Bus / Tram Stop: 'Güterbahnhof' (Tram 8, Bus 31)
Bus / Tram Stop: 'Hardplatz' (Tram 8, Bus 31, Bus 33, Bus 72)

Within 10 minutes walking distance:

Train / Bus (with direct connections to the airport): 'Bahnhof Hardbrücke' (Bus 33, Bus 72, many trains)
Bus / Tram Stop: 'Albisriederplatz' (Tram 2, Tram 3, Bus 33, Bus 72)
Bus / Tram Stop: 'Kalkbreite / Bahnhof Wiedikon' (Tram 2, Tram 3, Bus 32)

You can reach the airport within 25-30 minutes (door to door) and the Zurich main train station (Zürich HB) within 10 minutes.

Bikes can be rented for free (deposit) at the main station and other places around town.

One of us does smoke in the apartment at times, however mostly on the balcony. In case you prefer a non-smoking surrounding please let us know ahead of time so we can adjust accordingly.

Cathrin and Cliff were really nice and very helpful! I had never been to Zurich before and they took their time to explain how to get around the city. The house is so nice and the room is comfortable. The neighbourhood is quiet, although you get easy access to various parts of the city just minutes away! Overall a great experience :)

I had a great time at Cathrin's house. She welcomed me quite late and was helpful during my entire stay. The flat was clean and well situated (just one stop by train to Hauptbahnhof). I recommend it!

This is a great apartment in a cool area of the city. The sitting room and the balcony are especially nice. We spent a lot of time out of the apartment since we were attending an intensive conference, but we were very comfortable when we were home! The apartment is also really easily accessible by public transport. Cathrin and Cliff are very nice and friendly, and Cathrin is super easy to communicate with. Overall a great experience.
