First things first this is a hotel not an airbnb and the prices on airbnb are more expensive than booking the suites (yes suite) on other well known booking sites. Secondly we had a bad experience in this hotel. The phrase used most by the staff were 'sir there is something wrong with your room'. We were moved three times in three days. The rooms advertised on airbnb were not the rooms that you get. The photos show a suite at the back of the hotel behind the family temple (which is beautiful to walk through) to get to the pool (and if you're lucky to get a room there!) The spa at the hotel was under construction which was below the 'airbnb' rooms so we asked to move and it felt like a big hassle. We were not informed at booking that construction was happening. Desak the host was also uncontactable and the hotel advised that because it was airbnb all comms had to go through them. Desak was not based at the hotel or anywhere near from the sounds of how the hotel spoke about them (gender was changed multiple times when the hotel spoke about them). And even Desak was not aware that the construction was happening on the spa. The hotel is located really centrally on Monkey Forest road, nice walking distance to the Palace, yoga, market etc. And the pool is a nice edition. The family's temple is so nice to walk through to get to the pool and the suite rooms.

You will get welcomed by lovely staff. The breakfast and atmosphere is very nice. The rooms are clean . The pool is great, clean and straight in front of the monkey forest. BUT the spa which is offered in the headline was not available! It's a pitty because we booked this location espacially of the spa. The laundry service works fast and fair-priced! We already recommended it to others which booked in on the same day we left Try to get one of the two rooms at the pool!

Pros: - beautiful hotel area! Very spacious with nice plants and trees. - the entrance has a temple feeling and we enjoyed walking through it every time - great pool with a jungle feeling due to the trees in the background. Temperature was perfect, really refreshing. - the majority of staff was very friendly and helpful - the breakfast was of good quantity and taste. We could choose from 3 menus - we were welcomed friendly with welcome drinks - the hotel is very well located: 5min walk to monkey forest, 15min walk to center Cons: - our room had a strong smell and the bed sheets and pillows had an old and a bit of a sweat smell. We asked the staff if we could change the room. And they showed us two other rooms. We then chose one which didn't have such a strong general smell. But the bed sheets still weren't the cleanest and still smelled strongly. - the bathroom wasn't very clean. There were stains in the bathtub, sink and toilet - the airbnb pictures of the bathroom weren't from the bathroom in our room. Ours was with black tiles and very dark due to no window inside. - on the last day we had a staff member that tried to organize a transport to candidasa for IDR 400k. However the staff the day before offered it to us for IDR 350k and also showed us the printed list with transport prices which said IDR 350k. After we declined the offer of 400k, the staff member eventually called us on our room phone and offered IDR 350k. We accepted.

As soon as you walked through the ornate doorway, it was like stepping into a whole different world. The village was very tranquil and quiet even though it was located on the busy monkey forest street. The location was perfect because you could easily walk to the monkey forest, the palace, the market, and visit the many shops that line the street. Rooms were very nice, spacious, and private. The daily breakfast was tasty and the fresh juice was wonderful. The pool was clean and the view facing the jungle was serene. The staff was very friendly and beyond helpful with any questions or requests we had.

I am a Balinese easy going woman. Graduated in 1996 from hotel management of Polytechnic Udayana University I suddenly worked in hotel industry until now. At the moment, I am owning Villa Kemuning and also manage Pondok Pundi , Artini 3 Cottages and Villa Gadis.

Beside managing hotels/villas, I am also an art event organizer. I used to organize events, exhibitions, wedding in Bali and also out of Bali such as Singapore and Australia. Art is something that could balance our life.

So during your stay in Bali, I'd be available to organize your trips and programs starting from picking you up at the airport, organizing qualified driver for island tour as well as giving advises for what to do in Bali depend on your interest. Yoga, Trekking, Art Workshops, Cooking Class, Cycling, White Water Rafting, Hiking, Diving and many others are worth to try during your holiday in Bali. If you like, you may also go "outside" Bali a little bit to Nusa Penida, Lembongan Island, or Gili.

Please feel free to ping me if you have anything in mind.

Happy Holiday...:)
