This cosy flat is located amongst a handsome row of classic Georgian terrace houses. With a private entrance and within 5 mins walk to gemstones like Great Pulteney Street and The Holburne Museum.

Despite being lower ground floor, the large sash windows let in lots of light and the ceiling height is 2.5m. The 50 sqm flat has just been through a careful renovation and offers a calming and comfortable space.

Pets can be considered a one-off request with security deposit. Please message first.

The space
Bathwick Street was built around 1790 by Thomas Baldwin, as a part of the Bathwick Estate scheme. Back in Georgian times, the basement is where the kitchen is, food is stored in the vaults and the housekeeper and cook are often given rooms on this floor away from the maids that slept in the attic.

The flat still has many of the original kitchen features, the cast iron fireplaces and cookers, the large fireplace surround is all 200 years old.

Inspired by Hannah Glasse, an English cookery writer of the 18th century. Her first cookery book published in 1747, The Art of Cookery Made Plain and Easy, became the best-selling recipe book that century. She purposely used plain language to target the book to the masses, unlike most cookbooks published until that point which were written in French.

We imagined this to be the home of an aspiring cook. Decorated in historic colours that compliment the original cast iron features, as well as putting in vintage brass and copper pots for the theme.

LIVING SPACE
Modern living style with open plan kitchen, a large dining space next to a comfortable lounging area to wind down and relax in the evenings. Large 43-inch smart TV is mounted on the wall for a sleek and contemporary feel.

BATHROOM
Although limited in height of 1.93cm, the large walk-in shower is very spacious at 1.2m by 1m. Details like wall panelling and a sidelight add to the heritage yet modern ambience.

BEDROOM
The bedroom faces the garden, overlooking the little outdoor patio space. It has two 90cm beds that are pushed together to make a large king-size bed. Width of 1.8cm when together, and quite stable so you would not "fall into a gap" when lying in the middle.

Where you’ll be

Bathwick, England, United Kingdom

There is a local convenience store & pub < 100meters down the same street. Walk a few more minutes and you'll come to 4 Sydney Pl where Jane Austen lived and around the corner is the impressive Holbourne Museum & Great Pulteney Street. Strongly recommend a walkthrough to Pulteney Bridge where you'll find many independent stores and lovely local restaurants (a 10mins walk).

Hi I'm Tina. I'm based in London & Bath. After a decade long career in investment banking, I've recently founded my own property company. The curated collection is a small collection of individually crafted spaces for guests to feel at ease.

Our apartments have all been redesigned & renovated by me & my team before opening, we often draw design inspirations from the building itself, paying respect to its local heritage and history, then add our interpretation of modern living. I hope to achieve an authentic aesthetics that is cosy and personal, more “home” than “hotel”.
