Punta de Mita, Mexico is nestled between the vibrant resort town of Puerto Vallarta and the tip of Banderas Bay. Punta Mita is a perfect location to enjoy the sparkling blue waters of the bay and feel the sun on your face!

The space

Our Punta Mita beachfront condo or "Cayo Loco" as we affectionately call it, is located in a safe, gated condominium building on the beach in Punta Mita, Mexico. We are located on the second floor up from the pool/beach area and one floor down from the garage and entry way. The condo is a spacious 1500 square feet with an additional 250 squarefoot beachfront deck. The condominium building has just 12 luxury units which makes it very private. From the moment you walk through the front door, you will have breathtaking views of the ocean. You will have access to a pristine pool as well as hot tub. If you are a beachcomber, we have a lovely private beach within the gates of the condo, with powdery white sand, shade palapas, as well as beach chairs. Just a few steps beyond the gate is the beautiful public beach. If you like to BBQ, please enjoy our outdoor kitchen complete with a nice bar area, small refrigerator and a gas BBQ.
Cayo Loco has been lovingly furnished with our guests in mind. We have a king bed in the master bedroom, complete with a U.S. pillowtop mattress as well as new Anthropologie bedding. The second bedroom has a queen bed with a U.S. pillowtop mattress and crisp new Crate and Barrel bedding. There is also a comfy sofabed in the family room that you are welcome to use. Both bathrooms come fully equipped with fluffy cotton towels as well as soap for your stay.
The kitchen at Cayo Loco is truly a chef's kitchen with all stainless steel appliances as well as all the necessary dinnerware, silverware, stemware and cookware. The sink in the kitchen island has a reverse osmosis water purification. No need to buy big jugs of water to wash your veggies or brush your teeth just turn on the sink!
Each room has an air conditioner controlled by a remote as well as ceiling fans in every room.
We have all the modern conveniences of home including Wi Fi, a large TV with Canadian satellite, a ipod dock for music and a DVD player. Of course If you came to Mexico to unplug, there are board games and books.

This is SUCH an amazing condo! Huge apartment with plenty of space and beautiful views, better than the photos portray. The master bed is the most comfortable bed ever, we re-named it the cloud! Heather was great to speak too and very helpful with advice and recommendations! The pool and jacuzzi were amazing, and most of the time we were the only people by the pool. Great little lunch spots next door and beautiful restaurants 5 minutes walk away. The freshest sea food I've ever eaten! The beach is beautiful too. A quiet little town, perfect for a relaxing break!! Sayulita is definitely worth a visit for dinner or a night out too!

We had a top notch experience from start to finish. The housekeeper met us on arrival; gave us a very detailed tour of the condo, and outlined the rules of the property very clearly. Also included in the pack was a map outlining everything in the close area, and a taxi driver who we could contact (Jose is brilliant!). The condo itself is perfect...south facing, clean, comfortable and with all amenities that you'd possibly want including a drinking water tap (useful to know that you don't need to buy lots of bottled water). The pool is glorious, the beach is RIGHT THERE, and the whole place is very secure. Punta de Mita is gorgeous. Small, slightly under-developed (a plus in my book) with amazing bars and restaurants...I would even recommend the little shack on the beach by the condo (amazing shrimp buritas!). Make sure that you eat at Rosas (caution - the staff will pour tequila into your mouth straight from the bottle if you let them!), Blue Shrimp, and Si Senor - all gorgeous places with amazing food. Sayulita, only 15 mins away is a bit buzzier, and easily the best place to buy gifts. And if you want to do any active experiences you should check out Vista Paraiso - we did the canopy ziplining across and in the jungle! I'd move into the condo permanently given half the chance! Thanks a million to Heather for all of her help and advice.

We had such a wonderful time in Heather's condo! Carmen was very helpful getting us settled in. We parked next door with Chino and he locked the car behind a gate every night. As most reviews stated, the condo is MUCH bigger than the pictures do it justice. The pool was a nice switch from the beach and salt water. I would bring some water shoes for the rocks. The condo is right next to the la Quinta hotel. The neighbors down stairs suggested Si Senor restaurant just a minutes walk away from the condo. The food and view was excellent. We spent most our time next door at the restaurant right on the beach. There are lawn chairs and excellent hand squeezed margaritas! This is a quiet beach mostly with locals and not too many vendors. Such a wonderful location and wonderful people.

Lovely, spacious condo right on a very pleasant beach and adjacent to the El Anclote harbor. You can walk into town and to a variety of restaurants. Water purifier in the home is a nice feature. Great communication and advice from local Carmen who met us upon arrival. Not a "scene" like Sayulita. Punta de Mita is very mellow with a nicer beach and great surfing to be had.

Our stay at Casa Cayo Loco was wonderful! The space is much bigger than it appears in the photos and the day bed on the patio was a huge plus. Waking up every morning to a great surf break right out in front of the condo made for a great way to start our days. It's a quick walk into town with lots of great places to eat. Would highly recommend "Casa Teresa" if you are looking for a delicious Italian meal or head to "Tacos and Papas" for a fun atmosphere and fresh Tacos. If you have a car, it's a quick drive to Sayulita or Bucerias if you need a change of scenery. All in all, I would highly recommend this slice of paradise to anyone looking to get away, kick back and enjoy some sun!

I love to travel! Most of our trips revolve around great food, museums and of course the beach. I spent most of my growing up years and early adulthood in San Diego. When we first traveled to Punta Mita, I fell in love! It reminds me of "Old California" laid back vibe, pristine beaches, amazing fish tacos and warm ocean breezes. We know you will enjoy our slice of paradise as much as we do!
