I grew up as a child just outside of Kruger National Park and have always loved the bush. My childhood dream was to own a property in the wild where I could enjoy the sounds of nature and be at peace. After moving to Cape Town and owning a successful film company for many years, my desire to return to the bush lead me on a journey finally discovering the Cederberg Wilderness Area and the fortunate opportunity to allow me to purchase 517 hectares of pristine land. For the past 20 years, I have worked blood, sweat, and tears (with the help from many friends) to develop Gecko Creek into a magical place in nature where travelers from around the world come to engage unspoilt wilderness and remarkable silence and stars. Many will share their life stories particularly around the fire in the Boma and leave with new understandings, deeper thoughts, and wisdom going forward. New friendships and relationships are formed daily amongst our travelers and many return to Gecko Creek again and again. For us it is extremely gratifying to observe these connections and the integration with the wild.
