About this listing
The flat has been totally refreshed and it offers a spacious and modern place to stay in the old historical center of the city.
"Le panier" is the historical center of the city; during the commercial port gold age this was the living place of stevedores and sailors families. This is located above the "quai du port" were the first greek vessels berthed to build the city. The place is a concentrate of african colonies style and fragrances mixed with the typical french life. You will wake up with the sound of bells and will smell the "savon de Marseilles" parfume all around the streets. This is a quiet place without trafic (most of the quarter is for pedestrian only) , as a village in the middle of the city.
I usually live in this flat but I always give full access to all rooms and parts of the habitation. Airbnb is based on confidence!!
Interaction with guests
After few year in Paris, I have the pleasure to be back in my home town;
I will be happy to share stories from my grand parents (living in the quarter during the war) or any historical info about Marseille which remains my heart place! I can also recommend you few adresses for dinner or "things to see/to do";
How could I fill this section... Maybe we could say "Le Panier" is the equivalent of Montmartre for Paris! Nothing more authentic, quiet, and better located in the city!
EVERYTHING CAN BE DONE BY FOOT even coming from the rail station!
