The Old School House is a charming five-bedroom home in a converted Victorian school building, just minutes from Falmouth’s vibrant town centre. With lovely views of the Fal Estuary from the upstairs hall and main bedroom, this spacious and characterful retreat is great for families or groups of friends. Relax in comfortable surroundings while enjoying easy access to beaches, restaurants, and coastal walks. A truly special base for your Cornish getaway. Longer lets may be available.

The space
The Old School House is a spacious and characterful early Victorian home, offering a unique blend of history and comfort. With two good-sized adjoining reception rooms—one a drawing/dining room and the other a cozy lounge with a wood-burning stove and patio doors leading to the garden—it’s perfect for relaxing after a day exploring Falmouth.

If you’re looking for a brand-new, ultra-modern space, this might not be quite your style. But if you value comfort, character, and a home with a bit of history, we think you’ll love it here. The Old School House has been thoughtfully styled with social spaces in mind and retains many original features.

There are the odd scuffs and signs of wear—but we like to think of them as part of the story of the house. It’s full of personality, with a warm, welcoming feel that makes it ideal for gatherings, slow mornings, and memorable stays.

The garden features a seating area while the modern kitchen, complete with a breakfast bar, is ideal for casual dining. The house has been lightly updated as tenants have moved out (new sofa in lounge and new beds, etc) while retaining its original charm.

BEDROOM BASICS:
1 x king-size room (with estuary views & a sink)

2 x double rooms

1 x room with a pull-out daybed (IKEA Hemnes) and single bed.

1 x room with bunk bed

Requests for additional guests must be made at the enquiry stage—this may be possible at an additional cost.

Upstairs, the master bedroom enjoys stunning views, complemented by four additional small double bedrooms. There are two bathrooms (one on each floor). The ground-floor bathroom has a monsoon shower and a utility area with a washing machine and dryer.

Falmouth’s sandy beaches, ferry services, and vibrant town centre are all within easy reach, making The Old School House an ideal base to explore the coast, enjoy top-notch restaurants and bars, or soak up local culture at the gallery, museum, or arts centre.

This is a unique and welcoming family home steeped in history—even featuring a bell tower! It’s not a polished holiday cottage, but that’s part of its charm. Expect some signs of character—scuffs and chips here and there—but above all, a warm and inviting space to unwind.
