I stayed in the room in a vollage for 4 weeks and it has been an wonderful experience. Charles greeted and helped me carrying baggages on arrival even though my room was on 3rd floor and I arrived near midnight! The room was spacious and clean. Charles cleaned all rooms for guests every thursday. It was walking distance from Longwood medical center, great for those coming to visit one of those institutions. Transportation was also convenient. Brookline village T station is only 3 minutes away and buses are also available within a few minites. Overall it was worth and even more than the price. I would surely recommend the room for people visiting Boston.

I can highly recommend this booking for anyone looking for a safe, comfortable and peaceful place to stay in Brookline or around the Longwood Medical area. A short walk from the hospitals and school in the Longwood area, this was just a perfect location for me but also turned out to be a home away from home. First of all, Charles was a great host, flexible, thoughtful and provided helpful tips about the area. The house was very clean and nicely furnished. Everything from nice plants, soaps that smell amazing and a weekly cleaning just made everything about this listing so fresh, nice and welcoming. The other guests were considerate, each room has their own bathroom and shower which was perfect and a separate fridge that was filled with supplies when we arrived. Charles also invited us for one of the local restaurants for a great meal and the neighbourhood had a great vibe. All in all just a lovely experience, especially if you are looking for a non-stressful place to spend your days in the Boston area.

Big thanks to Charles and Siobhan! This was my third time staying with them, and there isn't another place in Boston I'll ever stay. In fact, when my parents came to visit, I had them stay with Charles and Siobhan as well because the quality, attention to detail and level of care is vastly greater at a home in the Village than at any other place I've stayed. If you're looking for a stay that surpasses all others, stay with Charles and Siobhan. Thank you both so much for the accommodations and love! Will definitely be back :)

I stayed at "A room in the Village" for around 11 days, a few days after my arrival in Boston from Italy to study in Brookline, and I honestly found here more than I expected. Charles was waiting for me and he helped me to bring my huge, heavy bags to the first floor, where the room was located. It was also an ideal accomodation for me because it was extremely quiet. The main street of the town was just a few minutes from the house, and shops, restaurants coffee shops etc. very very close. The first night, the owners of the house invited the others students and I to the restaurant. Additionally, I found the fridg literally full of any sort of food and drinks just for us (included some aged Italian parmesan, Ferrarelle sparkling water and San Pellegrino orange sodas, which made me feel ai home :-), considering that I am Italian). That was a nice touch that I highly appreciated and an extra friendly way to say "welcome". Also, I found fresh flowers and a nice plant in the room at my arrival, in addition to a set of clean bath towels, tootpaste, toobrush, soap, shampoo, air conditioners and a pair of slippers. After a few days, some people came to clean the room. The kitchen and the dining room were spacious, and in the living room one could relax watching TV. Without a doubt, I would suggest anyone to make such a marveloous and rewarding experience. Paolo I.

Only one word: FAMILY. Since the first day of my arrival, Charles, Siobhan, Michela and Ben have been family to me. Not only they have been unique in making sure I was able to settle in in the best way, they have literally FED me and my friends as if we were all part of a big family while I was living in Brookline for almost 3 months. First of all, the place is greatly located next to the train station and at a short walk from Harvard Medical in Longwood. Brookline is also one of the best areas where to stay if visiting/living in Boston from a short to a long stay. The room is huge, with a private bathroom for your own privacy and the house is fully equipped with anything you may need for your stay. Plus, Siobhan and "family" made sure all the roommates were able to get to know each other and to get along as well, so coming back home was really feeling like home. My Bostonian family has also two of the best restaurants in town (one in North End and the other one in Brookline) and an amazing pub in Brookline as well. You won't need to go any further than this place to feel cozy, welcome and "loved". I feel lucky in my experience during my stay in Brookline, and I can't believe I had the chance to meet such a lovely crowd of people. Not to mention the fact that each guest received a fridge full of goodies (food and wine!) from wholefood and trader joe's, just for US! I could go on and on, but I can only say: THANK YOU!

A Room in the Village may seem like a simple AirBnb but in reality it is so much more. As an operator of a high-end villa rental company in Ireland (Exceptional VIllas), I visit and inspect properties all over the world to enhance our portfolio. My friend suggested this AirBnb and I thought it would suffice for my layover in Boston. When I first arrived, I was greeted by both Charles and the caretaker, Michela, as well a roaring fire and ambient music playing in the living room. Charles gave me a quick tour of the house and helped me with my bags to my room. I very quickly noticed all of the thoughtfulness that was put into this Airbnb. From the fully stocked individualized fridge for each room with provisions and beverages to the high quality toiletries and fresh flowers placed considerately throughout the home. I could see that Charles is a very committed host which immediately put me at ease and made me feel very comfortable. The location is wonderful and as the name suggests, the property truly sits in the heart of a village. I was amazed at how many restaurants there were in this enclave and was delighted when I discovered a lovely little pub up the street which I visited on several occasions. I also visited a friend that is studying at Harvard Medical School in the Longwood Medical Area and walked there in less than 10 minutes. The home is also on two train lines and three bus routes all within a few minutes walk. This experience was very inspiring to me to see what a thoughtful and considerate place to stay for short or long term can look and feel like. Keep up the good work and if you are ever in the market for an Exceptional Villa stay I would love the opportunity to help find you an accommodation as enjoyable as I found a Room in the Village.
