Reconnect with nature at this unforgettable escape.

Pure mountain simplicity situated on the beautiful Bainskloof pass. A cabin designed for practical living, simple comforts, and extravagant views. The Mount Bain Cabin is a self-catering luxury glamping cabin just off the Bainskloof Pass. It is a place to reflect, reset and create. It offers a wonderful balance of breath-taking views and wilderness, whilst still being close to the city bowl (just over an hours drive from Cape Town).

The space
Mount Bain Cabin offers simple luxury while being a completely off-the-grid glamping experience. The cabin features a well-considered functional interior, a minimal and comfortable space with sliding doors that make indoor/outdoor living possible, qualifying it as a magical spot for chosen solitude and reconnecting with nature. While many creature comforts are included in this cabin, this is still very much a glamping escape close to nature in all her many forms - rugged, wild, calm, breathless. If you're looking for a raw and real escape close to nature -this is it!

Get outside and enjoy some superior mountain views, great fynbos, and fresh air. The Bainskloof Pass offers a spectacular drive, exciting hiking, and MTB routes as well as multiple swimming spots and kayaking in winter. Wine and fruit farms, farm stalls, a gin distillery, restaurants, and a bush pub are all within close distance of the cabin.
What the Cabin Offers:

*Outdoor Extravagance and Activities:
- There is a stunning woodfired hot tub recessed into the deck surrounded by a wraparound hammock net. Chill and relax with an infinity pool type feel as you overlook 180 degree views of the Breedekloof valley.
- We have an outdoor bath nestled into the mountain and an outdoor shower.
- For those hot days, there is a dedicated swim and picnic spot at the Witterivier (affectionately known as the ‘swemgat’) for guests of the direct nature reserve. We supply tubes and a Stand Up Paddle for guests to enjoy.

- A 20-minute hike from the cabin brings you straight to some ancient rock paintings.
- A 1-hour hike leads you to a wonderful waterfall.

Alternatively, stay inside and laze around the fireplace, enjoy the slow life and watch the Klipspringers and Jackal Buzzards, the sunrise, mountains, clouds, sunset, moonrise, snow peaks in winter… Experience nature and its elements from above!
