Our classic beach front home sits on a dune footsteps away from the beautiful Atlantic.
Watch the surf from the living room and fall asleep to the sound of waves crashing on shore.
This is a vacation the kids will never forget.
Cote d'Or is a classic beach house right on the water in Southern Shores, North Carolina. This is a ranch style home built on one level on a dune overlooking the ocean.
The home is wood-paneled and cozy in the classic OBX style. It is air conditioned and equipped with multiple televisions, wireless internet and standard kitchen appliances including a dish washer and an easy-to-use gas fireplace.
There is a deck overlooking the water with easy access to the kitchen. Additionally, there is a screened-in porch which is great for big feasts and gatherings. The house is particularly good for families with chidren as both parents and kids can go back and forth from the house to the beach in a few short steps.
Southern Shores is a residential community close to the 158 bridge so you won't have to fight long traffic jams. Easy access to grocery stores and restaurants within 2 miles. Schedule your visit to avoid the heavy bridge traffic on Saturday afternoons in the summer.
After sleeping all night to the sound of the waves, fix a cup of coffee and look out at the Atlantic where you are likely to see dolphins splashing in the waves. Grab a book, a towel, and some sunscreen... you are literally a few steps away from one of the best beaches in the United States.
Guests will have access to the entire house except one locked cabinet and the garage. Half of the garage is a laundry room that guests can use, and the other half is locked storage. There is parking for 5-6 cars in the driveway.
Interaction with guests
We will check in with you the week before your rental starts. There is a caretaker nearby in the case of emergencies or immediate needs.
The Caretaker's name is Luke Lucas. He can be reached if you text or phone him at ((PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
Either I or one of my siblings may be using the house just to the South during the summer. If our visits coincide, we'll usually stop by to say hello.
Other things to note
We make a BBQ available for guests. It's the kind that takes small canisters of propane. We supply one canister to get you started. You can purchase additional canisters for $5 each at Home Depot or Walmart (about 2 miles away) but you probably won't need to for a one week stay.
We ask that you clean the BBQ and put the cover back on.
When checking out - please strip the sheets and leave them on the floor. Please do NOT mix them up with the blankets and comforters which are washed separately. This can be one of the hardest things for us to deal with on days where we have a same-day turnover. We really appreciate guests that pay attention to this request.
No "Beach Week" rentals to groups of students.
This is a family home, you must be 30 to rent.
Washer and dryer are in the garage.
Check out is 10:00 AM after your final night.
