About this listing
Private room/bath in 4th floor condo, with elevator access; centrally located between Portland and Vancouver, in walking distance to the Columbia River Channel. Vaulted ceiling in great room with covered balcony provides lots of space. Enjoy a gourmet kitchen with everything you'll need, plus rivers, lakes and light rail.
Lovely guest bedroom with comfortable antique furniture, double bed and your own bath with tub and shower, with close access to light rail and nature trails. Comfortably sleeps 2.
All shared living areas available. Enjoy a book from the office library; coffee on the balcony; gas stove; all you need to prepare and serve your meals. Our 2 in house kitties will be here with us, but you probably won't see them, and we have a 10 year old neutered male Australian Shepherd who will be thrilled to see you and welcome you like an old friend.
Interaction with guests
We live and work here (the kitties, dog and I), so are around a lot. We have a private master suite, and work in an office alcove off of the main living area. The shared space is truly that. And we look forward to sharing it with you.
The Bridgeton neighborhood is on the Columbia Channel, just west of Columbia Edgewater Country Club and Golf Course, and south of Hayden Island, and the Interstate Bridge taking you to Vancouver, Washington. We have kayaking, biking, hiking, golf at Heron Lakes golf course, horse racing and car racing right here. Portland is a 10 minute drive or light rail ride, and we're walking distance to the Expo Center if you have a show.
Light rail is a 5 minute walk.
Other things to note
Enjoy river restaurants like Salty's, and during spring-fall, the Deck right on the Columbia. Elmer's Restaurant with great breakfasts is a walk across Delta Park, and Jantzen Beach shopping center is nearby too.
Of course wonderful culinary experiences are everywhere here, and you can walk or bike it off on local and regional hiking and biking trails. We highly recommend the Columbia River Gorge, and closer, Forest Park, the largest wooded urban park in the US. Also the Oregon coast and the mountains (both equidistant at about a 90 minute drive) are boundless.
With the 2 cats and dog, it's best you not bring your pet along, and please no smoking in the condo. We ask that you be mindful of our wonderful neighbors in the building by treating them as you'd like to be treated.
