We try to meet as many of our guests as we can but we live just outside of Ottawa and travel in the winter. We are always available by email or phone as required. We have a helper who lives nearby who is always available should something unexpected occur.Otherwise you are on your own to enjoy Ottawa and the space!!

The neighbourhood

This old Ottawa neighbourhood in what is called West Centertown, provides convenient access to a host of physical and cultural activities, including the Gladstone Theatre which is just a few blocks away. You are steps away from the Plant Bath facility, which offers inexpensive access to a children's pool, a full size swimming pool, dry sauna and complete exercise facility. The UNESCO World Heritage designated Rideau Canal and Dow's Lake is a 10 minute walk ;you can enjoy the Skateway in winter, boating and cycling in the summer. In the other direction, the St John A MacDonald (Ottawa River) Parkway offers many kilometres of bike and walking trails within a 10 minute walk or 5 minute cycle. We are equidistant from Carleton and Ottawa Universities--one a short bus ride the other within walking distance. We are also a short bus ride to Landsdowne Park, home of the Ottawa Red Blacks and Ottawa Fury.

Great location, close to lots of restaurants. Place was just as described: cozy, very clean, and perfect for those who are traveling with kids. Would definitely stay again. Ottawa is amazing.

The hosts were great with communicating and the unit was as described. There were two issues: one, the second bed was rather uncomfortable, but their couch was comfy so I was able to comfortably sleep there. The other issue was smoke from the tenant above seeping into our unit. When we brought it up with the host they spoke to the tenant immediately, and tried their best with minimizing the smell. Overall good value and nice place.

Response from Jim:
Thanks Tanya for your feedback-everyone has beds they like and do not like. As for the smoking that turned out to be smoke from a neighbor standing right beside the air intake for the house. That situation has now been addressed. Sue

Jim and Jennifer were fantastic hosts and their place is lovely! I was very comfortable during my stay because I had absolutely everything I could have needed. Especially in the kitchen! Often when I want to cook in AirBnBs there is something I need to purchase, can opener, measuring spoons, scissors, etc. but they had absolutely everything. Such a pleasant surprise. Absolutely great place and having a Bridgehead across the screen is such a perk!

My wife Sue ( who will be your host) and I are retired and love to cross country ski and skate in the winter and cycle in the summer. Ottawa offers the best of winter and summer and we think is a great place to live.We also travel as much of the year as we can and enjoy meeting new people.
