This is a good choice if the location is convenient for you and you're looking for a place to comfortably fit two couples, and are willing to go for a place that's not fancy. We slept very comfortably. The primary issues with this apartment is that it's shabby – there was dust on the floor, couch fabric was ripped, door lock onto the first escape looks flimsy. We stayed in Unit 3 (although we'd originally booked this unit). There was a window-unit a/c in the living room (which didn't have a door so that didn't help much), and in one of the bedrooms, but the other bedroom was smaller with no a/c and a more awkward layout. The kitchen was comfortable. No blow dryer. Shampoo and body wash in the shower but no conditioner. Quiet at night.

The host was available through email. I would have felt more comfortable if he made himself visible. Neighborhood was ok, parking wasn't a problem

Gary's place was super comfortable and a great location for visiting our son at Carnegie Mellon.

The location was very convenient, and Gary was very responsive to our questions. The photos weren't 100% but that did not make a big difference in our experience.

This was a perfect place for our last minute weekend get away. The home is located in a very convenient area just outside of Shadyside. It seems to be located in a "pre-rehab" area that has some rough blocks but still felt safe and secure. It was a quick 15 min drive downtown. Lots of bars and restaurants near by. The home was clean, had linens and was peaceful. The only negative I could think of would be the 20 cats the neighbor out back has. Otherwise, Gary was very responsive with any questions we had and was also flexible with our check out time. Would reserve this again in the future!

We were in Pittsburgh for multiple family reunion events all over town so this location worked great in terms of our accessibility to everything. Also, it is really close to Whole Foods & Chipotle, which for a family with food allergies made our lives much easier! Host left key for us in lockbox, and we were greeted by a refreshingly cool blast of AC when we came in. We were 3 adults (one couple) and 3 kids, and there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out (especially because the little cousins are thrilled to have a slumber party). We used the kitchen daily for cooking breakfast. Though we found pretty much what we needed, it was not an overly stocked kitchen in terms of utensils and gadgets, but we made do very well. The layout of the apartment is a super long hallway with rooms off of the side. The charm and architecture of the apartment were really beautiful, and the way it was spread out means that there is a lot of privacy from the front to the back of the house. I wish we'd gotten to use the awesome decks, but it just didn't work for our kids. And you should also note that if you have small kids, the long hallway is a pretty irresistible place to run up and down. Finally, the host Gary was great. We changed our reservation a few times (added another day, added another guest) and he communicated promptly, including after we had checked in. Overall, we had a really positive experience.
