We stayed for 5 nights at the house in Saint Julien, a pretty quiet village a short drive from Cenac where there are facilities and a short walk from the banks of the Dordogne. Lydia met us and was very welcoming. The house was very clean and restored and modern. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace every evening.

Great location in périgord noir, close to lots of day-trips. We had a lovely experience living in a medieval house. Lydia, the caretaker, was lovely and we were made to feel very welcome. We found however that the mattress on the second floor was not very comfortable.

Hello Laetitia thank you for your nice comment. The mattrasses are very recent and thick in both beds, but may be just too firm for you? some people prefer firm ones, some prefer it smoother. it is hard to please everyone regarding mattrasses, that is a very personal matter.

What a lovely place to stay! Everything was perfect. The house was well equipped and included modern updates to the kitchen and bath. We really appreciated having a washing machine to do our laundry. The village is quiet and peaceful, but you will need to do all of your shopping in one of the larger nearby villages. The walk down the river is well worth it. It's the best view of La Roque Gageac you will ever get. We would definitely recommend this wonderful place to stay! Merçi à Patrick et Lydia!

Beautiful villa, but be aware of remote location and extra charge for sheets and towels.

The house is in a lovely secluded spot with a wonderful view of the countryside. The surrounding villages are easily accessible by car and provide plenty of stunning scenic views. Patrick was a thoughtful host and very easy to communicate with. The house is everything exactly as advertised and we loved it.

Unique house in a charming village that was a great base for exploring the area. Kitchen and bathroom very modern: beds were small. Hard to find the first time so I recommend meeting the host at the church in Cenac.

What a wonderful place! and comfortable too! Although we arrived at 10 pm, we were promptly greeted and all was explained and an issue bout the sheets quickly sorted out. The four of us had three beds and slept soundly. [The village was very quiet.] Breakfast in the morning was a joy on the terrace, and we were astonished to see Castelnaud looming over us from the garden. The area was packed with things to do a few kilometers away. Yes to the castles and chateaux, yes to the caves but the highlight was canoeing and swimming in the Dordogne. You can get excellent bread from the boulangerie in Cenac, and most basic supplies. Many great places to eat, and we loved the Belvedere in Domme which has good food and a STUNNING view. All in all, we spent a wonderful week and left muttering praises from Patrick's house.
