Description

The space

Hefziba Bed & Breakfast is located just on the outskirts of the town of Moyogalpa; a fifteen minute walk or a three minute mototaxi ride from the port.

Hefziba currently has seven rooms available for booking. This listing is for ROOM 2. The family room has TWO double beds (can be shared) and a sofa bed. It is equipped with AC and also has a private bathroom. NOTE: We do NOT have hot water showers. This is common in Nicaragua. Sorry =(!. Also, WiFi is available in the living room area but it is not a very strong connection so please keep in mind if you plan to work while you're here!

The room can accommodate 4 guests. All rooms include breakfast for 4 (additional breakfasts require a small additional fee paid at B&B). All rooms have two double beds meant for sharing so please inquire for bookings where sharing beds is not desired and we will do our very best to accommodate all your needs.

Message from "host": Although I spend a lot of time on Ometepe, this is not my permanent home. It belongs to my grandmother who you might get to meet if shes not in the capital city of Managua! My cousin Memo lives here permanently however, so he will always be available to you on site along with the help of our translator friend, Lester =). My family on the island does NOT speak English which is where I do my best to help them with reservations and communicating with guests before hand to assure a smooth reservation and stay. This is truly a family effort and we do hope you appreciate all the effort that goes to making you feel at home! I may be present during some stays, but not for all. I will however, be fully available to you for the booking process and in helping you make your stay as comfortable as possible :) Please feel free to ask me any questions regarding your stay or island trips that you may want to make! (eg. volcano hikes, zip lining, la Punta etc). Lastly, we ask that you please respect our property (rooms, appliances, bicycles and motorbikes that are available for rent). We do reserve the right to charge any damages to cover for repairs! We will be fair with you so please be fair to us! =). Thank you!
-Cynthia

The neighbourhood

Moyogalpa is a very small town with many cute shops and many restaurants to choose from, most of which offer traditional Nicaraguan cuisine. It is a very safe town but we recommend travelling in pairs or groups in the evenings. Also, the main road does not have many street lights, therefore, please bring a flashlight to help guide your way!

Getting around

Ometepe does have public transportation that can take you to different parts of the island for veryyyy cheap!
If you opt out of public transportation however, there are many places that rent motorcycles and scooters for about $25-30USD a day (9am-5pm). They will ask you for your passport ID, $50USD deposit and a full tank of gas when returning the rental.
Lastly, tours are also available on Ometepe. It could range between $40-80USD per group depending on how far you'd like to explore! This will include transportation in a mini bus.

Hope that all helps!
Happy planning =)

Hi there!

My name is Cynthia and I am from Canada/Nicaragua. I love animals, food and travelling! My family and I are from Nicaragua; a beautiful little country in Central America, full of hidden gems! It's beautiful landscape, people, and foodddd make for a perfect place for a relaxing get away for travellers. Our home in Nicaragua is on an island: Ometepe! My grandmother and cousin live in this shared home full time but since we have many rooms available, we decided to make something special of this place and share it with people around the world. That's how our Airbnb journey started; with our B&B on the beautiful Ometepe Island =)

I do my fair share of travelling as well and I'm so thankful for all the people I've had the oppurtunity to meet over the years. My favourite visit so far: Thailand!!!

Happy Travelling!
