The space
Characterful, stone-built stable conversion. One Double + En Suite. Cosy Kitchen, large Sitting/Dining Room & Sofa-Bed. High ceilings. Private, clean, comfortable. Sleeps 4. No TV. Old village pub 5 minutes. Gastro pub 10 minutes. Beach, boat trips, excellent children's playground in Kilmore Quay 10mins. Hook Lighthouse, Irish National Heritage Park, Tintern Abbey Trails, 20 minutes. Wexford Town 20 mins. Traditional 19C. stone-built farmhouse & pottery, on one hectare, protected by a 'bawn' (courtyard) We are always happy to talk about our work and advise on local attractions and amenities. At night the silence and the stars are among the things we value most. There is little or no public transport so personal transport is essential. Bike hire facility available. Private off-road parking available. Please note: This rural property is offered to guests in the inter-personal community spirit of Airbnb's Mission Statement. The accommodation is converted from a traditional stone-built farm stable with structural elements dating from the 19th century. As such, while every effort is made to maintain it in a clean and comfortable condition, it is not vacuum-sealed against normal and natural seasonal incursions of rural insect life such as spiders, bees, wasps, etc. We do not aspire to the sterile and impersonal atmosphere of a modern commercial hotel. However, as our many positive reviews attest, normal standards of comfort and hygiene are fully adhered to.

Guest access
Secure parking is available in the yard or 'bawn'fronting the apartment. Guests are welcome to access the orchard (complete with living willow dome) behind the apartment, which offers a degree of privacy, for relaxation at any time. A clothes-drying rack is provided and may be sited in this area for discreetly drying clothing out of doors. Electric Dryer access by arrangement.

Other things to note
We recommend guests travelling by car to purchase a good road map to back up Sat Nav/GPS systems often more suited to urban environments. Postal code for such is Y35 WC63. Log on to (URL HIDDEN) & go to the Contact page for a map of our immediate area, with the Potter's Yard clearly marked. Wifi is sometimes intermittent due to local conditions and thick stone walls. We do not provide, or indeed use, TV. The ambience we aim for at The Potter's Yard is one of peace, tranquility, and personal ecological responsibility. We hope to attract guests who are appreciative of our aspirations in this regard - as, exemplified by the slogan, Reduce, Re-use, Recycle...

My husband Ultan and I have lived in South Wexford for over 20 years. He is a social Historian and I am a Potter. We share a love of gardening. We keep hens in our orchard and grow vegetables. Each year we pick gorse and elderflower to make wine for the coming winter as well as pressing our own apple juice. We offer pop up pottery sessions in Patricia's studio. Booking for these is essential and there is a small charge. What you make is your unique Irish memento. We read a lot in winter while summer evenings are spent outdoors walking or socialising. We are looking forward to meeting new and interesting people - having been keen to travel and explore the world throughout our lives we are always open to new cultures and experiences. Hope to see you soon!
