Fantastic location, beautiful apartment, a comprehensive list of what to do and where to go from Guillermo before we arrived. Would definitely recommend the apartment.

Travellers beware of false advertising! I was conned by Guillermo. His house is dirty, run-down and poorly built by amateurs. The photos are either old or staged. Upon arriving after an exhausting long haul flight, I had to vacuum all the floors and deal with a clogged shower dr…

Response from Guillermo:
You know when your guts tell you that something is wrong and you shouldn't accept a request? This was the case with Michael. The day he arrived to the place he wrote to me "the apartment is really nice, love this coffee table". Then he started complaining about the noise of a construction job that is happening next door. We were on vacation for the first two weeks during Michael's staying so I couldn't confirm the noise. Right away I offered him to find another place in the city at my cost, but he (of course!) said he was fine at my place but he thought he deserved a 25% discount! As soon as we got home (we live downstairs) there were no noises coming from the construction job. I asked two neighborhoods to confirm whether the noise was bad while we were gone, and they said that it wasn't. I ended up offering Michael a 10% for the "inconvenience" even though I didn't think he deserved it. Right away (after three weeks in the apartment without any complaints to me or Airbnb, he started saying that there were many other things wrong with the apartment and that he deserved a bigger discount since the apartment didn't look like in the pictures. I pointed out to Michael that of 48 reviews of my apartment, the total agreement is that the apartment looks much better than in the pictures (you can read all the reviews below). Since I didn't give him the discounted he wanted, he wrote this review to revenge me. I should mention that he told me several times that the apartment was out of his budget and asked for discounts that I didn't offer, so I think he saw the opportunity to get some money back from me by complaining about the noise and then the apartment. I reported this review to Airbnb but they said that everyone is entitle to a review, even if it is full of "alternative facts". Anyway, since I don't want anyone to have to decide who is telling the real truth here or who is using fake news, my suggestion is that whoever is considering renting my place wait until a few future reviews to validate whether the 48 previous 5-star reviews are true or Michael’s 1 star review is the real thing. Cheers, Guillermo

This place is truly a gem. The pictures don’t do justice to how beautiful the space is. Guillermo is also a fantastic host: very responsive and helpful. This place far exceeds a hotel...

I'm sure everyone writes superlative reviews, so I'm going to mention some specifics: QUIET: situated on a side street, probably the quietest place I've slept in a long time! KITCHEN: well stocked with spices, condiments, and other staples so that you can start cooking here right…
