About this listing
Conveniently located six miles north of 6th street, set back 100 ft from the road, long driveway parks 3 cars, fast internet, full kitchen, washer & dryer, 3 queen size beds, 1 fold out couch sleeps one, 1 air mattress sleeps one, 5 minute walk to bus lines and metro rail.
This is a basic, but unique country cottage feel home, simply furnished, but containing everything you'll need with enough space to accommodate a small group of people or a traveling band. The property is set back from the main road and has a groovy front porch and back yard with patio that you'll have all to yourself in complete privacy to do as you wish. I occasionally stay in an apartment in the converted garage on the first floor with my own entrance, etc. but am rarely there, so in any instance, you'll have privacy, and the run of the place. I strive to give my guests privacy, comfort, and freedom.
You will have exclusive access to everything: the long driveway which accommodates up to three vehicles, your own front porch and yard with patio, the laundry room, washer and dryer, refrigerator, microwave, gas range stove and oven, kitchenware and utensils, bathroom, and all of the bedding and towels that you will need. Toilet paper, body wash, shampoo, hand soap, dish soap, and laundry detergent is provided. Extra toilet paper can be found in the upper bathroom pantry.
Interaction with guests
You are left to do as you wish in privacy. If you have questions, need guidance or advice on the area, or have any issues that may need to be tended to, then I am just a text or phone call away.
The I-35 is a 2 minute, half of a mile drive down the street, which will get you downtown in ten minutes. Or you can drive 30 seconds to take Lamar Blvd downtown in about 20 minutes, and view all of the cool restaurants and shops as you drive all the way down. Guadalupe is your other option, right here on the corner, which if you take down and turn left on to North Loop, then over to take a right on Duval going south, you will get a view of a whole other set of restaurants, cafes, and shops, and will take you straight into the Hyde Park area, and then straight into the active UT campus area back on Guadelupe. Burnet is yet another option for you to drive south on, and will give you another set of restaurants, bars, and cafes to view. Midtown Grocery, Fuzzy's Tacos, Black Star Restaurant&Bar, and Fat Catz Cafe all take five minutes to walk to, have organic coffee, craft beers, good food, and anything else that you may need while you're here. Some immediate area highlights include Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon, The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Village location, The Frisco Diner, Hopdoddy Burger Bar, Hyde Park Market, and Epoch Coffee. Everything and anything you may need is truly near by. This Highland neighborhood is a great location to get to know the city from.
There are various metro bus, metro rail, and metro rapid stations that take between two minutes, and ten minutes to walk to, and will get you anywhere you need to go, and back. Austin public transportation is great, and very easily accessed in this neighborhood. Uber of Lyft is best for late night travel.
Other things to note
No pets. Absolutely no smoking inside. You may smoke in the side yard where there is a table and chairs set up outside for you, along with a bucket full of sand for your cigarette butts. All I ask is that you treat the property with respect, and leave it as you found it. I will handle washing all of the bedding and towels, and basic cleaning once you check out, so you don't have to worry about any of that. The hamper is located in the bottom pantry in the bathroom.
