This home is in a very nice, quiet, residential area. It takes about 20 minutes to walk downhill to Split old town and an 8-10 euro cab ride back. There is a supermarket a couple of blocks away, and the nearest beach is also close but at the foot of a steep hill...not very walkable. The house appears to be in the process of being renovated and the work that has been done so far is great. The entry on the ground floor leads to stairs going to the main (second) floor, and on up to the third floor, where there are three bedrooms (one double and two twins). The double has AC and a beautiful bathroom, while the twins share an AC unit and a small bathroom with a shower. There is a large living area on the second floor with a huge dining table (which could seat 8) and a sofa and two armchairs to seat about 5. The main balcony off the living room has a lovely view across the rooftops to the sea, with a picnic table and chairs to seat 5. There is an AC unit in the living room servicing the entire floor, including the double bedroom on that level, which might be a stretch in the height of the summer. The bathroom on that floor is brand new and includes the washer. (The dryer is a line and a frame with pegs outside on the balcony by the dining table.) The kitchen has not been renovated yet, but the cooktop, refrigerator, and other appliances all work well--it's fine for creating breakfast and snacks, but didn't inspire us to cook any dinners. But then there's really no need to cook dinner in Split--there are so many fantastic places to eat! Our only serious complaint was the lack of a toaster, but as soon as we mentioned it to our contact, he delivered a brand new one later that day! In summary, we enjoyed our stay in this house, and we could see that it will be lovely when the renovation is complete.
