Well, what can I say? Maria and her family were absolutely perfect hosts. The cabin is a little bit out of town, but it is really easy to find and takes about half an hour to the city centre on public transport. Maria gave us a great overview when we checked in and showed us where to find everything- including our own private bathroom in the main house, beach towels for swimming and even a couple of canoes to boot! She was heading into town that evening so gave us a quick tour of the city, pointing out places of interest and some great places to eat. She really went above and beyond! Every morning we got a beautiful breakfast basket. We are vegan but this was no problem for Maria and we started each day with a generous helping of muesli, fruit, bread, jam, coffee and much more. It was simply divine. The pictures of the cabin do not do it justice - beautifully decorated, cosy, and on the shore of a very peaceful lake, it was just what we needed to relax after spending the day exploring Stockholm. We hope to return to this beautiful city soon, and when we do we would be delighted to stay with Maria again. We could not have asked for anything more.

We had the best time staying here. Maria & Per welcomed us heartily, were very caring and gave us valuable tips for Stockholm. The environment is truly beautiful! We only had the time to stay for one weekend, but for sure will come back here for a longer stay.

First of all, communications with Maria were excellent. Detailed arrival instructions were swift, and it is very easy to find the house. The accomodation consists of an outbuilding, which at one end contains the bed, dining room table and sitting area which looks across the lake. The view is nice, and outside there is a small table and two chairs to sit whilst the sun sets (though I never saw the sun setting, this being June and Sweden). The bathroom/toilet is in the main house, where breakfast in the morning is collected. Such was the welcome of Maria, Per and their son, we were invited to dinner on the first evening. This was really lovely, and we were made to feel most welcome. It really is worthwhile staying and meeting locals. We even had an impromtu drive around the centre of Stockholm in the late evening (despite Maria´s next-day work commitments) to orientate and help locate various sights the next day. Her recommended vegetarian restaurant (Herman´s, on Fjallgatan) was an excellent place to dine! We aren´t vegetarians, but really enjoyed it! All in all, recommended; I don´t know how hard working professionals can manage to run this as a b+b, but they really do!

Its nice to stay in a place like that, away from tourists and the city. You can choose if you plan a natureday or go to the Center, but you have to find the good connections for going to the Center, the best Is to find the bustimes that you don t have to wait too long at the stations. Maria and Per gave us a familar and being welcome feeling. I d love to come back!

We could not dream of a better introduction to Stockholm as offered by Per and Maria. They were very generous in sharing information, food, company etc. Their cottage at the lake at 7 km from the city centre, is very cosy and well located. No better imaginable start of the day than some midsummernight swimming in the lake, where we could eventually have used their canoe. Breakfast, served in a basket at the pontoon, was delicious. We're seriously considering going back one day!

What an experience ! Beside of the (so more) lovely place you can see on the pictures, it was one of the most interesting meet i've ever had. Per & Maria were wonderful, kind, full of surprises, and give us the "real" swedish experience. They shown us the best in Stockholm, made us some amazing breakfeast, dinner basket and orange juice. Not to mention the french patisseries they made on our last day. Really, if you wanna see something else of Sweden, ask them. Only 20 minutes by train for the city center, close to an amazing and quiet typical lake, this is the best place to see both sides of Stockholm. Per & Maria are truly the kind of people that make wonder to travel more. I hope we'll meet again, thanks again !!
