Born and raised on the island of Murano, Margherita Barbini graduated at the Istituto Statale d’Arte in Venice where she specialized in decorative painting. After graduation, she worked in her father’s company producing mirrors according to the Venetian tradition. Margherita Barbini has been a professor of the Art of Glass Department at I.S.A. since 1978. Several years ago, she began designing and producing works of art born from a vivid desire to express her ideas, sentiments and creative intervals of reflection. Her artistic glassworks are exclusively designed and manufactured in collaboration with the most skilful Muranesi glass masters.
