Pedro and Rita were very friendly and easy to communicate with. They quickly answered any inquiries we had and allowed us to keep our bags in the apartment for a bit after checking out. The apartment is very big. There were 12 people staying when we were there and we could hardly tell; occasionally we did have to wait a while for the bathroom/shower (there are two). The location was great, within walking distance of many shopping areas, Las ramblas, and a central metro station connecting you to the rest of the city. The room and terrace is overall a great value for the low cost. Our only big issue was that there was no AC or fans, and with the heat in June, even with our terrace doors open, it was very difficult to sleep.

The location of the apartment is perfect. Pedro was an amazing host, he sent a message the day before our arrival. Unfortunately we had a problem with Rita when we arrived, nothing from what I read about her on the comment from other guests. When we were at the door she was very rude to us. Since Pedro knew we were arriving before the check in time we didn't think it was necessary to send a message to Rita. At the end we called Pedro because she didn't let us in. We had to go and have lunch with our bags until Pedro arrived. He arranged our room and was very helpful!!!!If you book the room which is clean and well located make sure you talk Pedro so you don't have to deal with Rita. Pedro, wish you the best!!!!!! You were a great host!!!!

Thank you Pedro and Rita for making us feel comfortable and at home! We had everything we needed and if we had a question Rita was very prompt to respond to our (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) messages. The room is big enough for three people, there's a shelf and a closet, mattresses are very comfortable, terrace is big and equipped with two loungers and a bistro table with three chairs. The terrace is overlooking a one lane street so it could be a bit noisy but we enjoyed the sounds of the city. There's an elevator in the building. There are a few more rooms in the apartment that are rented out and all have to share two bathrooms and a kitchen. The common areas are remarkably clean for the number of people that stay in the apartment! Bathrooms and the kitchen are being cleaned daily and are spotless. A room in this apartment is a terrific value for $$ right in the center on Barcelona.

As Pedro wasn't in town during our stay, we only met Rita but we loved her! Such a sweet person who takes such good care of her home, making sure all the other travellers in the other rooms are also comfortable and that we all have access to clean, stocked common space (i.e. kitchen, bathrooms). Our room with the terrace was a highlight of our trip, eating meals outside in the sun and enjoying all the natural light. We went in expecting wifi only in the kitchen as one of the reviews had mentioned, but Rita fixed the repeater and so we also enjoyed wifi in our room. With full access to the kitchen before midnight, a bathroom, two beds, and a wicked old Hemingway style elevator, we got exactly what we wanted and expected. The location was phenomenal; it was walking distance from Las Ramblas, many Gaudi buildings, the night life, el gotic, parc ciutadella, and there is a bus and metro stop a 3 min walk away to access the farther reaches like Parc Guell and the beach. This isn't the place to go if you're looking for a wild and loud late night filled stay, but my sister and I are in our twenties and we had an amazing time and late nights out without the crazy loudness at home. Overall amazing stay, and so thankful to Rita for all her hospitality! Would definitely come back!

I'm from Lisboa but it's been 5 years I'm living in Barcelona. I studied Sociology back in Lisboa and then a masters on Visual Anthopology here in Barcelona. I love to meet people, speak languages, talk about the secrets of the city. I like to be in good company and that's why 4 years ago I got this big big house and since then I have lived with people from all around the we are 2 people living permanently and we have quite a few rooms for guests from airbnb.
