Newly renovated guest suite located in beautiful University City. 3rd floor walk-up apartment with entry through host's Victorian era home blends lovingly restored old fashioned charm with fresh, cheery design. The Pineapple room is named for the antique "pineapple" bedroom set. We enjoy using the pineapple motif which is an appropriate historical symbol for hospitality. Come and enjoy this bedroom which says "welcome" to our visitors. A serene, and comfortable retreat!
This semi-private apartment is exclusively for guest use and is located on the third floor of the host's home. It does not have a private entrance on the street, but guests are provided with keyed access to the main house and a separate key to the guest bedroom for their total security and privacy. To enter the suite, guests will pass through the host's living room and walk up two flights of stairs to the third floor . Guest quarters include exclusive use of the guest bedroom, a small and well equipped kitchenette and a private bathroom. All rooms are directly adjacent to each other and connected by the third floor hallway.
In addition to the three guest suite rooms, guests will have access to use of the host's shared spaces including the living room on the first floor. This comfortable space is available for relaxing, reading, playing board games or social congregating. Host requests respectful use of this shared space (see house rules) and asks guests to seek advance permission from host if they want to entertain any additional visitors within the house. Guests will also have access to the basement laundry room to do their laundry, and to the front garden and back deck if they want to sit outside or need some fresh air.
Interaction with guests
Host lives in the house, is often home, and can usually greet guests in person at or soon after their arrival. Guests are assured of uninterrupted privacy on the 3rd floor. Host will provide advance notice to guest before entering the area to replenish supplies in kitchen and bathroom, to do emergency maintenance, or, very rarely, to access a closed room that is not part of the suite.
Host is friendly and willing to spend informal time to get acquainted and or socialize with guests, if desired, and as time permits. Host will also answer questions as needed. If host is not immediately available to respond to questions guests are encouraged knock on the door of host's 2nd floor office or to contact her by text message or telephone call. Host will respond as quickly as possible.
