We were greeted by Tomas who gave us a good understanding of the house and area. The house is large and well equipped with outstanding views to the Arenal Volcano and the lake. The house is situated in a small hillside community and the neighbours all seemed friendly. We spent…

Wow - Castillos de Suenos is much more than an Airbnb. Tomas and his family are amazing - so welcoming, helpful and warm. The house itself is breathtaking. The view is unbelievable, the amenities are great, and it has great open spaces. We will recommend this place to any…

Unfortunately this house did not live up to our expectations and was one of our rare AirBnB 'misses'. It should be said that Thomas was a great host, very friendly and helpful, unfortunately the house which he manages needs a good overhaul. Upon entering the house, you can immed…

Response from Tomas:
Hello Brad, How sad to learn that we under delivered in your case. I wish the owner will be happy to tell you how all your observations were addressed and how you are welcome to enjoy the house, this time "on the House", should you care, to compensate the bad deal you got. I share the concept that customer should be happy with what he/she got in exchange for money. Me, as someone who represents the side that collects your money am here for you to help and to make sure you are happy. I have shared your review with the owner and I will be getting back to you with relevant information from him as soon as I have any. I lived in around tropical rain forest surely too long to not to be able view occasional cockroaches, wasps, lizards, geckos, army ants raids, leaf cutter ants, more variety actually of ants and bats, etc. than I think is necessary to present here, including many mold, fungi, etc to illustrate that a visitor to El Castillo should not base his/her happiness on not spotting any of the above mentioned. This is not to diminish at all the presumed function of any house that rents at $125 a night to keep all undesirable organisms out of ones home, not mentioning roof leaks. This statement in any way involves entirely new and in-proportionally different meanings in Edinburgh and in El Castillo though. One part of my job is the supervision of the quality of the product offered to a customer, in this case to you. We hire an international standard trained house keeping service to assure quality in preparing every house we offer for rent. Only hours before check in, after the house keeper is done, a final inspection is made by fresh set of trained eyes to check for all bases. The same process was followed on the day of your check in. To hear from you about "ants eating leftover food from the previous guests on the counter top" is disconcerting to say the least. I sustain there were no "ants eating leftover food from the previous guests on the counter top" before you checked in or when I checked you in. Best Regards Tomas

By far the best airbnb I have ever stayed in! It is about 15-20 mins from the National Park along a dirt road. The view from the balcony is incredible. We had breakfast out there every morning. It is so remote! I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Wow! The view from the back deck was AMAZING. What a fabulous place! Plus the little town of El Castillo was simply charming. Would love to return. We walked the little roads throughout the village. Take trail/road across the street from this Airbnb behind Essence Arenal restaura…

This place had the best view. It was a charming community with great food around. You will need 4-wheel drive though!

I don’t know where to start. Our first day at Castillo de Suenos we meandered through the edible landscaping, through the citrus and banana trees, under the little the cabin down the hill and to the riverbank. I wondered at the abundance of life here, and was awed by the sounds o…
