This delightful little house was built in the late 1800s, dismantled and moved by an elderly man load by load in a handcart and reassembled here. It is fun comfortable, a treat to stay in. Walking distance to everything.

The space

This wonderful little 100 plus year old house is aptly named, Esher. Located on Esher Street, it mimics the work of the artist in its fanciful reconstruction. Originally the house was located several blocks away. It was dismantled in the early1900s and moved, load after load, in a handcart by a small boy and an 80 year old gentleman to its current location, and reassembled, piece by piece.

The house is tiny but extremely cozy and comfortable. There are two queen sized beds, and one double, as well as a pull out trundle in the living room that makes into a very comfortable queen size bed.

Guest access

Guests have access to just about everything the city has to offer. It is walking distance to downtown, the driving park, festival grounds, theater, great shopping and restaurants.

Interaction with guests

We live in a separate location, but are available when needed.

This cottage was an ideal location for us...close to town..we walked everywhere...very safe neighborhood and quiet at night. The cottage is comfortable and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed for the week. We loved having the space to spread out and not be cramped like a hotel room...theres a washer dryer upstairs too..which was helpful during our week stay...

Keys were left on the table, nothing to welcome us. The neighborhood was ols but fairly well kept up.

The location was good - close to downtown and in a quiet neighbourhood. The house was basically as described - a tiny, quaint cottage. The main part of the house was bright and cute - furnishings were fine. Main floor bedroom and bathroom were extremely dark and needed updating. If you're just using the main part of the house then you'd be happy. Single bed upstairs and queen bed downstairs had mattresses with significant sags. We didn't get a chance to meet the host - she dropped by with towels after we checked in but we were out at the time. There was no welcome note, and it was 2 days before we found the wifi password note in a drawer. Correspondence went unanswered the whole time we were there. There was no curtain on the upstairs bathroom so we had to make something work, as the house is close to a neighbours. Overall it is a pleasant cottage if you're looking for 2 bedrooms and 1 bath. The extra bedroom and bath are much less pleasant.

The host was very accommodating and willing to make our stay as comfortable as possible! Lots of space for our large group. Nice deck on the second floor. Older style home but quaint.

Great home, great neighbourhood, great host. We were a group of 4 and comfortably fit in the home. Would stay here again if we returned to Charlottetown.

Our host was very welcoming and friendly. She took the time to stop by not only make sure that all was well but also to get to know us. She was very kind to give us insights into the places we should visit and factual/helpful information about the island. The house is less than 10 minutes away from the airport which makes for a very convenient location. It is in a very nice and quiet neighborhood. It is also within walking distance from the "downtown". My mother, sister and myself walked home one night from the town and it only took us about 20 minutes. It is also located in Charlottetown which is a very strategic location. Everyday we drove to different corners of the island. The house was very clean and with all appliances needed to make yourself at home. There was even a hair dryer in the bathroom, and small fans in every room in case we got hot at night, which we never did. There is plenty closet/drawer space in every room. We were 6 adults and we fit perfectly in the house. It was nice and cozy. We were there for 7 nights, it really felt like our home. We would definitely rent this cottage again! And we highly recommend.
