Miho and Koji were such wonderful and welcoming hosts. They were very easy to communicate with, were kind enough to drive us to and from the nearest bus stop on arrival and departure and provided a comfortable stay in their charming residential retreat. We found out that most Japanese houses are very cold during the winter, but we were provided with a heater and an electric blanket that kept us warmer. The showers are outside but are very hot and refreshing. We mostly loved the location (which was easy to commute to and from central and downtown Kyoto) and view from our room and the adjoining common space veranda. The location is charming, quiet and perfect for our Kyoto leg of the trip after busy Tokyo. All in all we would highly recommend staying with Miho and Koji and would love to come back (maybe in warmer months though) :)

This is a really cool flat - made special by the hosts (we dealt mostly with Koji who is a really friendly & interesting guy) and by the communal garden room overlooking the side of the mountain. The bus trip into central Kyoto is fairly easy and the area of North West Kyoto is interesting in itself with many temples and shrines.

Koji and Miho's place is wonderful, incredible location with beautiful view from the bedroom and gorgeous garden room. Feels like a ghibli movie setting! Calm, beautiful, and surrounded by nature. The hosts were so kind and went above and beyond, giving us lifts to the bus stop with our luggage early in the morning. I'm so happy I stayed here and I can't wait to come back! Best week ever! Thank you Koji and Miho :~)

Truly beautiful place and somewhere you should go if you're looking for a quieter and calmer experience from the usual Tokyo/Central Kyoto places. You can see how beautiful it is from the photos and it lives up to the beautiful photography and goes even further when you're walking through the little roads it is located in. Koji was a pleasure to meet and definitely helped me out by picking me up at the nearest bus stop and helping me with my bags. Everything was as described, very clean and everything functioned well. I definitely recommend.

Koji and Miho are great hosts, able to tune in to what guests are into and recommend the best places accordingly. The room itself is clean, has got a good comfortable double bed, a toilet and kitchenette. Great for preparing breakkie and small meals. On sunny days it's lovely to start your day at the outdoor terrace next to the room, away from traffic and city life. I would warmly recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience Kyoto away from tourist destinations. And you need to be able to bike as its a bit away, but great way of exercise!

This apartment is very cosy and a great find if you want to escape the more touristy side of Kyoto and have a local experience. Yes, you will have to do a lot of walking because the closest bus stop is a 15-20min walk away, but on the other hand it's great to wake up and see the mountains from your window. Besides, Koji and Miho were great hosts. Koji picked us up from the closest bus stop when we arrived and left us there when we departed. He also gave us detailed information about the area and some useful maps. Overall the experience was very laid back!
