Only an hour and a half away from New York City, our house is the perfect getaway to find peace, nature and a lot of fun. Our house is one of the few that is retrieved from the street and you'll have the great impression to be alone in the woods.

The space

SURROUNDED BY NATURE

Just steps away from the Squassux Marina, this charming house is overlooking the Great South Bay and surrounded by the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge. This 6500 acre refuge on the south shore of Long Island is bisected by the Carmans River; a New York state designated scenic river and one of the largest on the island.

Only an hour and a half away from the big city, our house is the place where our whole family has been spending a part of the summer for the past ten years. We are from Paris and it is one of the most vibrant unique place we know and we had the desire to open it for others !

On the ground floor you'll find a cozy living room, a billiards room and a sun porch that opens on to the large deck. View Alpacas in the distance as you walk from the deck to the swimming pool complete with an outdoor shower. Located in the quiet town of Brookhaven, a ten minute bike ride takes you to the lovely town of Bellport. Close to the Hamptons but without the feel of it and without the traffic, this home is truly a world away from the hustle bustle.

This atypical, rustic home has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.  Two outdoor cabanas provide extra sleeping space and screened porch style dining

An outdoor pool, large outdoor deck with BBQ grill, table and seating, and a wooden badminton court, 4 bikes, TV and DVD make it a great place to relax property and have fun.

Kitchen utensils and linens are provided and a washer and dryer are in the basement.

Local activities!

Swimming in the ocean, boating, sailing, kite surfing, fishing in the bay. Golf, Tennis,

Hiking in the nature trails of the Wertheim National Wildlife Refuge, fly fishing trout in the Carmen river. Restaurants, Film Festival, Theater, Outdoor Concerts, Antiquing, well stocked library, organic coop farming.

Enjoyed a relaxing stay at this rustic country house, with great views. Definitely a great value for the area. The pool was a wonderful amenity to enjoy as well. The view out the back room is spectacular!

Very special house and location. Our adult children loved the pool table and the terrace with BBQ. We loved the warmth of the house and the nature around it and that so close to New York.

I stayed at Pablo's to celebrate my 30th birthday. I grew up in a nearby town in Long Island, now live in NYC, and wanted a few days back in the LI summer environment. The location is great, because it is not too deep out east, and you do not have to pay Hamptons prices for anything, but you still get that Hamptons feel of being out in nature, with lots of privacy, access to water, and best of all, a private pool. We stocked up on snacks and drinks at Costco about 15 minutes from the house and then didn't leave the house except for a delicious dinner at Painters' our first night. The house had everything we needed to cook, plus lots of linens and towels, and two full bathrooms and a washer and dryer to help us live comfortably.
