Good place in Shinjuku area (about 20 mins walking). Apartment is very small (2 people with lagguage struggle a bit). Basic, but you get everything you need. The area is very well served with 100s of restaurants open till late. Good value for money.

Good location for west tokyo and great view from flat. However the flat was not very clean at all and had an old shower in the middle of the room. We have stayed in better places that cost less on our travels in Japan.

In the interesting neighbourhood of Shinjuku. This place is a comfy studio-style place with a good bed and bath, and a great balcony giving an interesting view. Definitely recommended for central Tokyo.

This is the ideal spot for exploring Tokyo. Really close to JR Okubo station and easy access to JR Shin-Okubo too. We actually walked into the heart of Shinjuku from the room and all the way through to Meiji and Harajuku. The room is as described and really comfy. The bed was super comfortable! The best touch was a lovely note and bottle of Sake to toast our honeymoon. This is a fab place to stay and I'd highly recommend to anyone visiting Tokyo.

Great location, near to JR station and Shinjuku Station. Lots of great bars in walking distance and plenty of shops to get groceries. Wifi hotspot was very useful too.

Great place in centre of Tokyo. Pocket wifi is brilliant and helped us no end on the metro, though definitely recommend that everyone visiting Tokyo gets a subway day pass! Great easy access to the apartment amazing views and perfect instructions to find the place. Definitely recommend it, thanks again James!

Great place, awesome location, very clean and tidy. James was an excellent host leaving so many useful things in the place like chargers, umbrellas, just that added thoughtful addition of going above and beyond. It is not ideal for 3 people as it is a bit too small, but we really enjoyed our stay. Thank you James.

About James

Hi I'm James from California! My mother is Japanese and my father American, so I spent my childhood summers visiting Japan and falling in love with this beautiful country. I grew up in Hawaii, California, and Seattle. After graduating from university, I lived in Hokkaido (Japan) and Seoul (South Korea), then served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in South Africa for 2 years. I now work in Tokyo as a consultant in finance and tech.

I love travel, photography, and anything related to the great outdoors. Although working in Tokyo I am pretty busy during the weekdays, when free I love to grab a coffee or drink with or take guests out to experience the city! Studied city planning and international sociology in university, so I can give you a rundown of Tokyo and Japan from that perspective as well.

Countries I've visited so far: South Africa, Brazil, Mexico, Canada, India, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia (Bali), Turkey, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Ireland, UK, Liechtenstein, and Switzerland

Looking forward to meeting you soon! Shoot me a message if you have any questions about Airbnb, my apartments, or Tokyo in general!
