"Northern View" offers a rare chance to experience breathtaking ocean panoramas and prime views of magical Boat Harbour Beach - recently ranked the best beach in Tasmania (and the 9th best in Australia). Admire the water from nearly every room in this substantial 5 bedroom residence. Stop. Relax. Listen to the waves and smell the sea air. The pristine sand (and popular surf club cafe) are just a short walk down the hill.

The space

Take a break from your hectic world. "Northern View" at Boat Harbour Beach is one of the few places in Australia with uninterrupted north-facing water views. This place will enchant you. Watch the sun rise over the water in the morning and then gaze at the milky way at night through the cleanest, clearest air in the world. 2 minutes from the beach, close to National Parks and walking tracks, 30 minutes to historic Stanley, 45 minutes to Smithton the gateway to the Tarkine wilderness and the wild west coast. And all just 15 km from Burnie airport. There are nearby restaurants to choose from and excellent swimming, snorkeling, fishing and rock pools to explore. Can you find the secret beach?

Guest access

The whole house is available to guests. "Northern View" is one of the few original brick homes in the area and one of the largest, sleeping 10 adults/kids in comfort. 4 bedrooms each with queen bed, and a kids retreat downstairs with 4 bunk beds. 2 lounge rooms, refurbished kitchen and bathroom, rumpus room with pool table, and sunroom with unbeatable views. We think our house is the best in Boat Harbour (but we are a bit biased).

Interaction with guests

Make yourself at home at "Northern View". More information on the house and surrounds is available in the yellow folder in the kitchen - it should help you make the most of your stay in beautiful North West Tasmania. If you get stuck, Karen, our housekeeper, may be able to help you out. Alternatively contact us, your hosts, directly.

Other things to note

Linen and bedding provided. Fully equipped renovated kitchen. Washer and drier, TV, DVD player, books and games. WiFi with unlimited data. Pool table downstairs.

This house is excellent for large groups as has plenty of room. The kitchen area is huge and has heaps of cooking facilities and utensils. The bedrooms are comfortable and enough room to spread out. We had 2 young children travelling with us and there were heaps of toys, games and books for all ages to keep them entertained. A real bonus. The view is magical and the owners are very approachable. We really enjoyed our time there.

The view from this place is breath taking. For a house of its size the cooking facilities were the right size to match the number of guests. The beds were all super comfortable and overall our stay was perfect!

Response from Miranda:
Hi Dean, we are glad you and your guests enjoyed your stay. The views are spectacular. We are all fortunate that the previous owner was a chef and installed a great kitchen just before we bought the house for us all to enjoy. We hope to welcome you back again some time. Roger.

Lots of space in the house with a stunning view - we enjoyed every breakky and dinner in the winter garden. It was well equipped and the bed was also very comfortable. Did a lot of walks around boat harbour - beautiful scenery! Thanks Miranda

Response from Miranda:
We are glad you made the most of your stay. We also enjoy walking around Boat Harbour. Our kids love exploring the rockpools and playing on the beaches. Next time you could explore Rocky Cape National Park or do the longer walk along postman's track to Sister's beach. Roger.

Perfect house for a large group gathering in a pristine location. House is large enough for people to have their own space but also has inviting shared spaces. . . Short walk to beach and epic views. Roger and Miranda were very understanding of our specific circumstances and upheld the highest level of communication and professionalism that made for a wonderful stay in Boat Harbour. Would stay again :)

The views from this home are magnificent! From almost every room there is an ocean view as the ocean is visible from two sides of the house. This is an oddly laid out home that grows on you. There were rooms we never had a reason to explore during our trip. Everyone enjoyed all being home but in our private communal areas; glassed in porch, deck in front, garden in back, kitchen, living room, etc. I forgot a toiletries bag and they were very helpful and prompt to help me. The only downside to this home was that it had a tank water system and we felt it necessary to bring our own drinking water.

Response from Miranda:
Hi Roxanne, We are glad you enjoyed your stay, and appreciate the quirkiness of the house. We agree that the views are magnificent! We are aware some people don't like drinking tank water. It is the only option in boat harbour and is perfectly safe, but for these guests we have installed a filtration system which is plumbed through to the tap in the kitchen. We also make sure casks of pure spring water are available for guests to use. These are kept in the kitchen pantry. Roger.

Hi David, We are glad you enjoyed the views. They are very special - especially being able to watch the sun rise over the water. Also glad you made the most of the surf club restaurant. The people who run it are very nice and always willing to help. Roger
