This ranch experience was exactly what I'd hoped for: a comfortable, personable cottage far away all the hustle of the city and nestled in a national forest! There are hummingbirds and woodpeckers in the yard, and a hike that takes off from the house. If I'd had a week's vacation, I would consider spending it here!

My family and I stayed at the Rusted Star Ranch for a week and really couldn't ask for a better experience. The cabin itself was super comfortable, warm and fun. But what really separated this place was the incredible outdoor space...there's tons of room to explore and hang out in. Also, it's super close to the Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, Lyons and Allenspark so iy's easy to get around and explore everything. I can't think of enough superlatives to say about this place. It was fantastic.

This place is incredible. I selfishly want to keep it secret, but Janet and Pete were simply too nice to do something like that! The views are incredible, the cabin is the perfect combination of modern and rustic, it's super easy to get to Rocky Mountain and Estes Park, the woodfire grill is awesome, there's a beautiful little mountain lake not far from the Ranch, and just to reiterate, the views are astonishing. Janet and Pete prepared us a delicious breakfast welcome basket and even went the extra mile to help me ship a telescope to the ranch. If you're aim is a vacation to relax and enjoy the mountains, I guarantee they'll make your stay perfect! (this place is also perfect for dog owners, our Boston Terrier enjoyed the place even more than we did!)

Janet and Pete were awesome hosts! So welcoming, gracious and helpful through every step of the reservation process as well as check-in and check-out. They made themselves available for any questions prior to and during our stay, which meant so much to me. Seriously great people! The Rusted Star Ranch cabin was as amazing as the description and pictures promised. We could not get over how well-done the decor and every aspect of the furnishings were. The outdoor patio area with seating, BBQ and party lights felt like absolute heaven - we made sure to have a few meals outside to enjoy it. The kitchen was amazingly well-stocked and that really assisted us in throwing together our meals. Janet also made us aware of a neat lookout spot which we made sure to visit the two mornings we were there to watch the sunrise hit the mountain peaks. Our pack of long-haired chihuahuas also loved this place! We were so thankful that it was doggie friendly. :-) Great spot close to Rocky Mtn. National Park which allowed us to visit the park very easily. I really can't rave about this listing or Pete and Janet enough...we plan on returning next year if all works out! Hopefully for a longer stay next time!

We felt fortunate to stay at the Rusted Star Ranch. Janet and Pete were quick to respond from start to finish, and truly made us feel at home. We were welcomed with fresh flowers, organic breakfast foods and clear guides for the house/surrounding areas. The interior is beautifully decorated, while the outdoor patio's wood burning stove and lights were so special. It's perfectly situated close to Rocky Mountain National Park and was a retreat after a long day of hiking. As we were driving away, we were thinking of ways to come back.
