Unwind and relax in this historic gem of a home. There has been a mill on this site since 1298 and in 2019 we completely refurbished the current 18th century milll to a very high standard to ensure a truly comfortable and magical getaway. You'll be surrounded by trees, bird song and the constant sound of running water and the sight of our resident heron by the waterfall. The Mill lies in a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in Daphne du Maurier country, on the Fowey estuary.

The space
The front door, situated on the first floor at the rear, opens into a lobby with plenty of space for coats and boots. There is an open plan kitchen/living room on the first floor which features some of the original workings in the living room area and a fabulous picture window looking out onto the river and waterfall. A bespoke staircase takes you to the first floor where there are two beautiful double bedrooms with kingsize beds and family bathroom with power shower. Guests can enjoy the well stocked gardens and there is raised patio with table and chairs for outdoor dining. Weber BBQ available on request.

Guest access
The guests will have use of the well stocked gardens and outdoor dining area.

Other things to note
Up above and to the rear of the mill is the old workshop which has also been recently refurbished to provide separate self contained accommodation with kitchen, shower room and kingsize bed and own private patio area.
The mill and workshop can be rented together for larger groups.

Neighbourhood highlights

Lombard Mill is idyllically situated at the head of Pont Pill in a rural yet not remote location between the villages of Bodinnick and Polruan - both with pleasant pubs to walk to along Pont Pill Creek. The romance of the area has not changed over the years and this picturesque part of Cornwall, with its rocky, wooded coastline and glorious unspoilt green countryside provides a complete antidote to the stresses and strains of everyday life, whatever the season. Once you've arrived you will feel like you have been here forever.
Fowey is a very short ferry ride away and is a delightful haven for those who enjoy messing about on boats and good restaurants. North Street Kitchen is a particular favourite of ours! Fowey is renowned for its safe, deep water anchorage and stunning sailing. Small motor boats can be hired from the town quay and kayaks from Caffa Mill quay.
The famous Hall walk which has been popular since the 18th century is virtually on the doorstep and provides spectacular views of the Fowey estuary and the sea.
There are five National Trust beaches nearby, all of them between a three / five minute drive away but all of them about a half an hour walk away: Lantic Bay, Lantivet Bay, Palace Cove, Lansallos Bay. They are all hidden gems and often you'll be the only visitors.
Nearby Lerryn is one of Cornwall's most picturesque villages.
There are plenty of places for day trips within easy reach such as the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House (NT), the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Moor, Jamaica Inn, the historic harbour at Charlestown and a little further afield, the surfing beaches at Newquay.
